axle shift

I am mounting my new coil overs and I actually gat them both on but then Bill came over and noticed that one rear whell is almost touching the body now and the other is now out from the body about 2 or 3 inches further.

I was so busy getting the shocks on, I didn't notice.  The whole axle shifted. I have a panhard bar but I never touched it.  All I did was remove the old coil overs and put on the new ones.  I had to make new upper shock mounts that altered the position of the upper eyebolts a bit.  Now one shock is almost vertical and the other sits at a slight angle.

What did I do wrong ?

I think I figured it out. Don't know why I didn't see the solution before. The Panhard bar ! The old coil overs are 11" long and the new ones are 3" longer. So I guess I have to extend the bar either 1 1/2" or 3" ? In my defence, I have never done any of this rear axle stuff before. I just woke up this morning and the answer seems obvious. I wonder how far a Panhard bar extends ? I wonder how to extend it ? Maybe I have to buy a lonmger Panhard bar ? This is all a mystery but I am sure that I'm on the right track.
I guess when the new coil over fell on my head it knocked some sense in to me. I'm learning.

I looked at it yesterday and I don't think it is adjustable. I will take off one end today. Does it matter which end ? Silly question but I thought I better ask. Where is the best place to buy an adjustable ?

It is 12" long and has a nut at both ends that I guess allows for slight adjustment ?
