If you want to have less problems with your hot rod ? Don't run air bags...
The Essex I had was air ride and if you don't run an air tank the tiny compressors will run for ever and you car won't rise as fast as you want....
Also unless you have excellent plumbing skills and none of your fittings leak the system is problematic when a small leak has you bumping up the bags to get you home to grab your soapy solution and go hunting for the leak.
Check out the build of my Essex there is a picture of the frame and the air system it's not just a tiny electric pump and a small bag.

Bagging my ride is/was something I wanted to do since day one in this hobby and I did a lot of research since day one. But I also have a nack for making bad choices in this hobby. So I will proceed with caution about air bags. I don't have the cash to do anything soon anyway. The 42 just broke down again and the battery in my 29 still won't charge. It never has. Putting them away for winter and taking a break from the constant let down. Giving myself a chance to save some cash for the repairs. But thank you for your kind words of warning. I had planned a 5 gallon tank with proper fittings and 2 new pumps but was recently given a pump by a neighbour. I wanted to someday try fabricating a rear cantilever system once my welding skills improve enough but again, my finances are being sucked dry by having 2 rides needing constant repair. On the up side, I am learning but slowly.
