My wife started what she called " Small Town Christmas Tree lighting" 3 years ago as a way to draw our Community together ( post Covid), to raise funds for Hospice Niagara and McNally House ( Hospice in Grimsby On) and to collect non-perishable goods for Community Care. Our kids and their spouses are all involved, providing hot chocolate and hot cider, candy-canes and such. The Vol. Fire Dept always joins us with their entertainment and BBQ. Sue ( my wife) and my sister Sue ( I know, but it gets worse - one of my daughter-in-laws is also a Sue) made up ribbons and decoration balls that could be had for a donation, a loved ones name put on it then hung on the tree. My brother-in-law and myself ( along with a grandson or two) kept the fires going. It's a fun evening and something close to Sue's heart after losing her own sister at a young age to cancer. All the proceeds were through Donation and 100% goes right back out.
Well thanks fella's - it needs to be done. We have the room but without all our excellent neighbors and friends.....it would just be another yard with lights, right?.
