On my 29 model A, the pass door never shut right and was hard to open, especially from inside. I finally had the time to look at why and discovered the hinge had been welded on to cover up bad, rusted out metal and the welds bulged enough to stop the door from shutting correctly so I cut the hinge off, restored the hinge, cut out the offending rust and scrap metal to square off the hole, fabbed a new piece to fit and shaped it a little to ensure it had a low profile for the hinge and screws and welded in the new piece. Not perfect but the door shuts and opens much better. Almost perfect so I'll have to see what else is rubbing. I also made two shims for the other two hinges. Much closer fit now. What a blast. I love working metal. Door handle next. Something inside the handle itself is busted I think. Something isn't right. Time to learn more stuff.
Thank you guys. Your support helps a lot. I lack confidence in this field but I am learning.
I noticed the window didn't rise as well at the top so I shortened the screws and all is well.
Looking for videos on model A door handle repair but no luck so far. The handles turns fine if I space it out from the door 3'4". Something internal isn't working right. I have about 5 or 6 handles spare so experimenting to sort the issue. Just getting to know my ride inside out. (and learning)
