pizza pan disc brake covers

I just ran across a post on FaceBook by a game named Owen Jeancart in HOME BUILT HOT RODS that looks interesting.  He shows how he made disc brake covers from pizza pans.  So my question is, are these used just to dress up disc brakes or do they help with cooling ?  Should I go out and buy two pizza pans and start drilling ?

I thought covers were just to keep brake dust off your mags? Not really
an issue or necessary if you are running steeles I would think. Would

they even clear the callipers without spacers? Ed

In the photos Owen provides, they hide the dirty part of the discs and provide a nice shiny surface where it would otherwise look dirty.

Anything goes in hot rodding and people are applying what ever their imagination brings ... I like it too...

Do you have a thing for Italian food? Pizza pans and spaghetti headers?... Your car could have been a mobsters car in a past life.

When I saw how sparkling clean it looked and how visible my dirty discs are, I thought it was a nice idea and like you say, imagination applied is a wonderful thing.
