Poor guy. Hope he gets it across at some point.  Vehicles 25 years and older subject to tariffs.

Think this makes cars already in Canada more valuable?

I just saw the video, this is getting really stupid,I just went to Ontario on Monday the 17th with a car 2008 model,no problems, very weird that a vehicle 25 years and older but a 2 year old car,no tariff,I am coming back up there on the 31st with a truck,a 2002 model,we will see what happens, apparently things are going to change on the 4th, I have handed my US citizenship card back in,I am done,I will miss my family and friends here, told everybody I will see them in 4 years, lol, also if you want to come here for more than 30 days, you have to submit your fingerprints and keep papers on you 24/7, NOT, I CALL BU#$ IT on this one

There is a trade war going on started buy the u.s. . To think collector cars are exempt is nuts. Should have checked with a broker.

Nope, not nuts.

Tariffs are to protect industry. Last I checked, there are no plants in Canada building brand new 1968 cars.

So, just more proof that it's a massive Liberal tax grab and nothing to do with trade protection.

How and who reversed the decision? Great news for the car owner.

'The director of operations at Border Brokers, said that a "classic car" classification that could be used to exempt the vehicle from the tariffs was instead used to apply the duties'. This had nothing to do with government legislation or elected members, this is your neighbor, the government bureaucrat writing a memo in 'gov't speak' so no one understands it. Happens in every department, every day. How can the working stiff at the border possibly know what the kingdom builder is deciding to publish today.
