Ok So I been hot rodding , drag racing , street racing since like 1976-77 . Literally every hot rod Ive had has been sold for parts , pieces , or as a project or a driver . Then never seen again . Now its 2025 . With all this technology cell phones , internet , face time zoom etc etc .
Aug 23 we downsized , moved , and went to sell off my cars and The Trini,s trans am .
Sold The Little Gremlin , 50 chev 5 window truck and her 87 trans am ( just have the gasser project left ) And as my luck goes I woulda preferred to ended up w any of the other three over the the gasser lol Just my luck .
The gremlin drag car it had been built to a drag car in 77-78 . I owned it for several years . Sold it . Cruising through an amc site I,m on , and there it is , racing at a track event in states . Next thing a guy messages me hey I seen your car racing in the states ????.
I never really thot of myself as owning the gremlin , more like I just got have it , enjoy it for a while and passed it on
The 50 same thing , It had been built into a hot rod around 75-76 . I owned it for a while , passed it on . Next thing guys calling texting . Hey it looks like your truck on some site getting the cab fixed .
The 87 Trans am , sold . Guy text me hey theres a red trans am on this site in toronto exact duplicate of your old ladys car .
Not one single car truck bike boat that Ive had in the past have I ever seen again once it left the laneway .Now with int net and everybody w a cell phone posting pictures and videos , what used to be my stuff is all over the internet . A guy sent me a clip of the gremlin racing in the states . In the audio of the clip the announcers says and hey look Doug and Angela from Canada are back with the little gremlin
Its like say 1975 . A friend , family member moved away . You never saw them again , maybe a letter or phone call and even those eventually fade away . Now its 2025 , your friends or family could move to china and you can see and talk to them face to face with a few pushes of a button on your key board , tablet , cell phone etc
Now my projects are working on my rzr900 and getting ready to put new belts on my lawn tractor

Today I have some car dealers coming to look at and take pictures of the '53 Stude and '66 T-Bird.
They are going to an auction somewhere. I will probably lose money on each one but I just
don't drive them enough.
Also, a friend back in Burlington has a 442 Olds W71? and a Model A roadster pickup just sitting.
We are both 88 years old. Time to wind down.
Buy high, sell low..............
I too came across the Essex I built to have the guy that owns it now tell the interviewer that it was a tribute to his grandmother. Passing it off as he designed and built it , but knows nothing about it
I suppose if he took her inheritance money and bought a hot rod with it... it becomes a tribute to her.
Other vehicles I've owned are gone now too. It's ok I enjoy building or customising them more than driving and maintaining them.
