The future has been passed forward to another group as the aging AACA club has come to
realization that they are all getting too old to manage such a big event and the group was
unable to draw younger members to join the club. The only thing I know for certain is that
the Motor City car club has not taken on the task moving forward, I suspect you'll see the
original HASC flea market they put on before Christmas at the International Center will be
finished for many of the same reasons unfortunately this year. Still hoping someone steps
up to save that event as well..

What to do about the weather. Both Lindsay and Sterling can seriously become a mud bath. Unfortunately this is the time of year people are looking for parts. If you are a builder, fall is better, maybe September dates would work. We left Lindsay at 1:00 Saturday as our spot became inaccessible. Packed up and went home. Nobody to look at stuff anyway.
Warren
Stirling "used" to be a potential mudpit yes,but the fairboard has fixed the issues so it isn't an issue there now. Barrie used to be a crapshoot too Warren,I recall towing people out of there during the fall meet as well a few times. There's a reason ol Don Haney bought himself an old tandem tow truck later on.....There was no money in fixing the rows but there sure was a cash cow when he was charging to get tugged out of his field! There is no perfect outdoor solution here in Ontario aside a large paved parking lot..

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 497, Omemee is taking over the swap meet. AACA has been hiring two service groups to handle the gate and parking for the past few years. The swap meet was given as a gift to the new owners from the storage container units to the orange cones and everything lock stock and barrel. That was real nice of them to do that so the Legion will not have to spend thousands next year when starting up. What group would ever do that.

I wanted to go but I am still cleaning up storm damage and the usual Spring property maintenance. My 1st and last experience with the Lindsay swap meet was 2017 and I refer to it as a mud fest. Sleet and cold and so much mud, there were aisles we couldn't dare attempt. Still, I wanted to go this year. Sorry I missed it.
An absolute disaster. Rained all day Saturday , mud over my ankles so deep there was
entire rows of venders you couldn't get to.. Trucks ,trailers, big RVs burried in the mud
I left on Sunday around 2 and they were still pulling stuff out. I got gas and was talking to
one tow truck guy who said they figured he and others would be there all day. All that and I
only sold $75 worth of stuff . I am getting way too old for this anymore. Ed
I am getting way too old for this anymore. Ed Ed that is why I did not vend this year as I have now gotten to that point. I was one of the volunteers manning the vender gate Fri. and Saturday and seen what the field was like. My Wells Cargo trailer was loaded to go and never left my driveway. I would say over half of my vending small parts stock hit the scrap yard today as I did not register for next year. I retired from hauling vehicles and parts from Texas / New Mexico 18 years ago and had a great time doing it. A long time vending since Molson Park and now I am done / retired. The rest will go on Market place.
By the way I let a fellow that could not get to his spot without a boat use my spot that was high and dry and even had hydro and running water for the camper. I think his wife was very happy.

We were there from Thursday till Sunday and it rained almost the whole time. Our four sites were in the last row and maybe the worst mud soaked hole other than the bottom field. After one of the guys throwing wood shavings into a sloppy mud hole told me that they were not helping anyone through the mud with their trailers and vehicles and was told to call a tow truck..... Made my decision never to return.
If not for vendors they wouldn't have a show. All the years I have been driving down only 2 times the weather has been nice.. I'm done! Barrie may be more expensive ,but it's organized and the ground is better suited Lindsay is too early in the year.

I was there on Saturday and have never seen that much water running down hill at a Flea Market. Then Mud City . Unless the weather is dry before the market and sunny the days of the market I'm not going back . People driving around the Flea Market didn't help the situation .
Talk about ones driving around? we had the same young guy In a beat up brown ford ,up and down our isle just so he could play in the mud . and the inconsiderate people walking around in their nice white tennis shoes walking into our personal areas making them a sloppy mess too just so they didn't get muddy.
