My niece is looking at a 2022 Hyundai Tucson with 21000 km.  She asked me if I knew anything about them as she looks for a new car.  I thought opinions here would likely be helpful to her.  Or any other car she might be wise to consider. Thank you in advance

The Tucson is a SUV, the civic and the corolla are both sedans. Tell her what, that she doesn't want a SUV? Do a Google search of the Tucson, the ratings are pretty good. I have had several friends who have had the Tucson and were both pleased with it. This is a Hot Rod site, why are we discussing the Hyundai Tucson?

I thought the kindness and the knowledge here could help my niece find her next car because most here have a grocery getter as well as a hot rod. Thank you Wuga.

A few years ago, the Hyundai and Kia dealers had spare motors in stock.
That is a warning sign.
They could be better now.

 Whoops, ya right.

Honda CRV then.

I thought friends could shoot the breeze about any car when hanging in the garage Warren.

I saw the category for "General Car Talk" and thought this would be ok to ask here. My apologies if I was wrong.

Inexpensive transportation Hyundai or Kia. Huge difference from the old Ponies..... Parts are fairly cheap, dime a dozen so parts are available. Regular maintenance and a cheap car will be just as reliable as an expensive one just depends who you want to impress.
My wife drives a 16 Hyundai elantra huge trunk ,smooth ride and peppy.
If anyone is looking I suggest staying away from any vehicle with a CVT transmission especially in the snow.

We've owned 2.... Nissan cube and Saturn Vue ...the Vue  transmission at the time was $5000 to replace  2 within 3 yrs then the cube in the snow wouldn't move...  too light , once it broke traction the transmission stops similar to traction control come to think of it. She nearly got rear ended at the lights a few times trying to get going.

If we need to be talking hot rods?  Mine suck in the snow too. Too low and just spinning my wheels.

The last new vehicle that I bought was a '78 Dodge van. What a POS that was.

Now Dave, that could be considered hot rod material.

We just got in from the North and I noticed your post Cuddles. My wife was looking for a new vehicle in 2021. I told her since I'd bought the last 2 new ones and since this was her primary driver that she should get what she wanted. She did all the leg-work, read reviews, etc. Then we went out and test drove a few. She settled on a Hyundai Sante Fe. So far she's had 4 years of trouble free driving. Not ONE issue. The same could not be said for the new Dodge 1500 quad-cab( rusted itself back to earth regardless of oil spray or any other measures) I bought in 04 or the Mazda 3 Sport I'd purchased new in '11. That little Mazda was really quick though and handles like an over-sized slot car. Just my 2 cents.
