Funny story (sort of)

I went to get gas yesterday in my wife's Honda Fit.  I don't know who designed the Fit but I suspect it is common now to bury the gas cap release in the nether regions left of the clutch pedal.  Being close to the hood release, I didn't want to pull the wrong clip so as I turned in my seat to get out, I thought I'd simplify the task and slide down to sit on the foot rest of the door where I could more easily see the two releases.  But as I flicked the clip. I heard a voice ask, " Can I help you? "  Initially, I thought he meant, what kind and how much gas do you want but as I turned my head away from under the dash toward him, I saw he had his hand out as if to shake hands.  In a split second, I realized that from his perspective, I was an old man who required help to get up out of my car.  He thought I couldn't get up.  THAT kind of service you just don't get anymore.  I took his hand and shook it profusely with a heartfelt smile.

Years ago, I borrowed my dad's van. I needed to fill up, pulled up at the gas station and was looking for the release. The attendant asked if I stole the vehicle??
