Hello everyone, my name is Rob Potter and I'm the announcer at Cayuga Dragway. I'm also the track historian and am very interested in the history of the sport during the fifties, sixties, and seventies.
We're having a show called Drag Strip Memories at the War Plane Heritage in Mount Hope on Sunday April 15th 2012. Featuring race cars pre 1974 and tons of memorbilia including photos, magazines and newspapers, apparel, trophies, and much more. There`s a room for viewing old videos and we encourage people to bring their photo albums from the era.
Good to have you aboard Rob, I've only been up to Sunset once, and i've been meaning to get back up since the lengthened the track. I'll try to dig up the photos I have saved of the super bird that ran as a pace car there.
