She started as just a bare 1937 Ford cab (no floor, rockers, etc) and a badly damaged/modified '32 (car) frame....repaired frame complete with K member...Model A front crossmember and 48 rear...
4" chop, 6 1/2" channel.. Sectioned '35 grill and original 35 rad..1956(?) 292 Y-Block w/ Offy intake and 3 carbs..late 70's Econoline 4 speed manual OD trans...1934 box, shortened 18"...Interior compliments of a $25 canvas army tent and seats from a 1950's army ambulance...shes running '32 wheels with Bias wide whites (16 & 17)...fully functional crank out windshield...and lots of little nostalgic "bits"...
Solid, straight and safe....
All parts are original Ford and all work was done by me (first roof chop) with guidance (and suggestion...lol) from a very good friend...he sure knows his stuff..NONE better!!
Ive taken her to Syracuse for the past 4 years...she'll run 75 MPH no problem and fairly comfortable for a 4 hr drive. Recipient of the 'Ol Skool "Dirty Dozen" awars 2 years in a row...very grateful but really not why I built her.. but a great compliment nonetheless.... She gets lots of attention...most good, some bad...but hey, I like the way she looks and thats all that matters.
Great job!! I LOVE it... what an awesome build and I bet its a blast to drive! I'd like to get to Syracuse myself maybe next year... I hear its just an amazing show and the Rat Rod scene is amazing!! That's what I'd go to see.... the RATS!
Thanks for sharing the details about your ride! Maybe I'll get a chance to check it out in person someday!
