Hello everyone! Just joined the site. I live in Beamsville. I am a 2nd year electrical apprentice with Hydro One (Old Ontario Hydro) I work as a High Voltage Underground Cable Splicer, working on 115 000V - 230 000V.
I am ew to the rodding screne but not new to working on cars, I have restored a 1946 Willys CJ2A and I am restoring a 1947 CJ2A as a MB clone. (Army Jeep)

My plans are, read lots one the site (as I am new to this)take the body from the 1947 as I have to buy a new body for it. So I thought I would turn the old one into a rat rod.
I have a Olds 425BB out of a 1965 Olds 98, with matching tranny (Don't know what it is but it is a auto) I also have a 2 speed power glide, from a old Corvete (don't know if you can swap around the trannys going that far back. but I might as well try)
I have a 1953 Willys CJ3A frame and I am being given 1999 Dodge Durango frame. would the Dodge be better to use?
Hopefully when I start this build I can keep it under $2000 and have all my questions answered. So thank you all in advance for what I haven't read yet and what I will!!
Welcome from Aylmer Scott. The powerglide will not fit the Olds engine.Olds and Chevys have a different bell pattern.You may have a turbo 400. Is it a 3speed with 2 dimples inward on the trans pan?

I dont know yet.
A guy who I went to school with has a 1965 and 1968 Olds 98s. We wants to keep the 65 as it is a convertable but wants the 455BB out of the 68. He said I could have the car if I helped him do the swap, as I have the room. So I dont have the engine in my hands yet. (I need a lower flat bed so the car doesnt bottom out)
Being as it is a top of the line car, it just might be the Turbo 400...
Welcome, Use the stock frame for your project, it will be less work than trying to fit a jeep to the truck frame. Beamsville, i get to go there 6 days a week......................to earn fun tickets ( money)..............
Carl nieghbour down the road has one same colour,with a white hard top. Hardly ever takes it out of garage, once a summer "maybe" not sure if a auto or stick????

Years back Jeep sold a number of attachments for those things to small farmers that ran off a PTO pulley on the back, i remember seeing one attachment was a sickle mower.
welcome from someone with a newer jeep. 78 cj7 levi renegade. only problem with mine i don't think it has anything original from when i originally bought it, maybe the vin plate.

I have the PTO installed but I am fabbing up a winch for the back of the jeep....just for looks
