im new to muscle cars hotrodding and everything. as of now i know about nothing. how should i start learning? i mean, i start reading stuff, but most of it doesnt make sense to me, as it talks about stuff i dont know anything about. how should i start????
Read up on engines & how they work, then get into how to make modifiacation to get more HP. feel free to ask question here & we will try to help you out!!! pete

from jordan(by stcatharines) yes that is what i would really like. a coop with an old guy who knows like purt near everythin. if anybody knows somebody who would put up with teachin someone let me know, as that would be the best way to learn.
Reading is great for some but guys like me not so good. Dyslexic and have major memory comprehension issues. It was real frustrating at school when everyone could tell the teacher about the story they just read and book reports forget it.

Read magazines like Hot Rod, Car craft, Popular Hot rodding etc...and read them from front to back, even if you don't understand the terms/brands/part names at first. In a short period of time, you will. Forums like this are great for asking questions, but your learning is in reading and doing as Poncho said, even if it isn't a hotrod or musclecar

I believe that the majority of people only retain 10% of what they read alone. Nothing worse than reading a dry-as-hell, techicnical manual. Add photos and it gets better. If I watch someone do it with some basics explained and I'm off to the races.

One good word..."Osmosis". Get out to car shows and cruises and just generally immerse yourself in all things car related. Don't let anybody DO work for you. Get them to SHOW you how to do things. And don't give in. When you're stumped on something never be afraid to ask someone. If they don't give you the time to help, they're an arsehole and probably wouldn't have been any use to you. thanks guys! randy, ill definately have to take you up on your offer sometime! i also found that youtube is very helpful to learn stuff as well! much better than reading as it gives visuals.
