Welcome to Canada....and Ont.. that snow won't be there long..I spotted two robins out side this morning. First Robins I have seen so far this year..Welcome to you and your Family Dave..you will be busy for a few days, take care, be safe , enjoy..the summer fun will upon us in a few weeks now..
Still feels like we are here temporarily. Finally got our house sold in Scotland, just waiting for the cash to appear in the bank then we can transfer it over to here.
Got a Costco card, so have bought the usual nonsense: 4 trays of giant muffins, more kitchen roll than we will ever use, etc etc, lol.
We also got an amazing gift from Ailsa's Aunt in Van Island, a Canadian Tire gift card to the value of $1000 !!!.
Our rental house is huge, will take a while to get used to all the space.
Looking at houses to buy, and I'm trying to persaude the boss to look outside of the Ancaster area as we are really limiting ourselves with what we can afford.
Loving the blue skies, when it's not snowing
Will be getting our Canadian driving licences on MOnday, then I can look for a truck at last.
Was at a funeral for a family member not too long ago and met a relative I haven't seen in 30 years. Anywho, bottom line is this ... he lives in Paris Ontario and absolutely loves it there. Might be worth taking a look there. I certainly can't say I like (or feel safe) where I live ... it was nice to hear someone speak so highly of their town.

Glad your getting settled in for a bit.. Take your time, I agree with pint on casting a wider net for beter value.. The "Boss" will be the one doing the rush hour dance so what ever you decide you should consider checking the driving route she will have to do every day..Some of the outlying places have nicer size lots, with detachted work shops..more freedom, nice community living, lots of things for kids to do , and just generaly a mentaly healthy way to live the dream..and there are some great places to be found with a lot of older people retiring and "down-sizeing" and for us car guys we are always trying to upsize when we are young.. draw a circle on the map ,check the driving routes and times , real-estate prices, somewhere out there the perfect place that you can afford now is just waiting for you to find it...Best of luck with all the stuff you will get behind you in next few months..Have fun
