Lets not forget the 1996 Roadmaster Wagon

I loved the engines in these cars.
It is the GEN 2 LT1 reverse cooled engines. These cars had the iron heads and not aluminum like the 1992-1996 Corvette and 1993-1997 F-body(Camaro/Firebird).
These iron heads flow slightly more than the aluminum LT1 heads, but used smaller roller cams than the Vette/F-Body camshafts. This iron head cam specs out at 191º/196º duration @ 0.050" and 0.412"/0.428" lift with a 111ºLSA.
The iron headed 350 LT1's(94-96) were rated at 260hp@5000rpm/330lb/ft@2400rpm.
Corvette LT1 was 300hp@5000rpm/335lb/ft@4000rpm
F-body LT1(96-97)285hp@5200rpm/325lb/ft@2400rpm, 1993-95 was 275hp/325lb/ft)
1996 Corvette LT4 was rated at 330hp@5800rpm and 340/lb/ft torque@4500rpm.

The iron headed GEN 2 engine, L99 was a 4.3(265cid) V8(3"stroke 3.74 bore)and also used the same roller cam as the iron headed 350 LT1 engines.
200hp@5000rpm/240 lb/ft torque@2400 rpm

Using the same roller cam, the 1996-2002 L30 Vortec 305 truck engine made
230hp@4600rpm/280lb/ft@2800rpm
And the 1996-2002 L31 GEN 1-E engine with Vortecs heads and the same roller cam made
255hp@4600rpm/330lb/ft torque@2800rpm

All of these GEN 2 and GEN 1-E engines made great low rpm torque with great throttle response.
I had a 1990 Buick Estate Wagon with the Olds 307, a 1994-96 Buick Roadmaster Wagon would have been great.

This was a great hauler and smooth driving car, even though some people dont appreciate the classic looks of this land yacht (eh Q???, lol). Went to a good home-Jesse-a GM mechanic near Ottawa . He has now added back the traditional vinyl woodgrain finish-the black vinyl Carbon fibre look was different?

What else cruises in such comfort, contains 5.7 litre vette engine with 275 hp. hauls a 4x8 sheet of plywood or drywall, get 30 mpg on highway at 110kms/hr, (17 mpg with that camper though)--a 94-96 Roadmaster wagon of course! Will miss it.
