So are farmers going without tires now? I don't get how sales have dropped off unless farmers are using bald tires or something.

From what i understood a BIG tractor tire was now $350.00 Compared to somewere around $60.00 before??

May have the "Before" figure out of whack.

The way i read it, Was you couldn't get out of the new disposal fee, as it wasn't on the old bad tire you replaced, the charge was "On Top" of the new tire price you had to buy.

I,m not sure if disposal of the old tire at a landfill or?? wherever, you would be charged again????

(I only heard this mentioned on the news twice in one day, then no more talk about it.)

 Probably buying in Quebec or US, Eco fee is only on tires bought in Ontario

This is why I hate our government so bad is that they hit the one that don't complain to a point that they have to pay attention.Our farmers need all the help they can get to compete with the US.They think nothing about how much deisel the trucks burn to get it here from the us but will do something underhanded like this to the little guy.We should be charging more levey's on imported goods and give more subsidys to our people. Free trade is all one sided. IMHO

 I just bought a set of four tires a couple of weeks ago and to answer your question yes they do double dip...

Heres my bill: 4 tires at $182 each=$728.00

                     eco tax: $5.69 each tire=$22.76

                     HST=$97.60

                     Total=$848.36

I don't know about you but i liked the price of $728.

As with any tax they come out with you can bet they will never use the money for what it was meant for, remember the last tire tax?

Welll farmers need to stop doing smoke shows with their tractors......... the tires will last longer.

Secondly, you voted those bastards in. If you want your tax money back just lie on your housing allowance.

Did you see "This hour has 22 minutes"? Marge asked Mike Duffy "if lying and brown nosing goes up to $100 a barrel, can I have drilling rights on your head?"
