Good Caliper Installation

My niece picked up her new (used) to her 2008 Jeep from a Chrysler dealership yesterday and got a flat tire an hour later.

Someone helped her pull off the wheel and found this:

I guess the rubbing caliper may have had something to do with the flat tire.

Disgusting certification, that garage/mechanic needs to loose the inspection station certificate.

I find this kind of thing is the result of someone being called away from a job for some reason .Usually the boss or owner has something or someone that has to be delt with right at this moment and can't waite till the current job is completed.Probably had the caliper on and was called away befor he put the bolts in or someone had to finish the job for him. Ed

 exactly! I had that identical thing happen to me. i limped back to the shop and i could see the owner shaking his head at the guy who finished it up.

Yep that never should have happened. Mechanic should have taken it for a test drive before releasing it to the customer.

Reminds me of a vehichle "FastChevy" had in his shop awhile back.

The guy didn't have a long enough steel brake line , so took a short cut and ran the new line through the coil spring to the wheel cylinder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways, my niece did not demand her money back , go figure. confuse

They got it fixed and forced the dealer to install 4 brand new tires.

Then they were insisting only a pair of tires needed changing.
