Had too many cars to count...imported many as a hobby from the southern States in late 70's to early 80's....only rod I totally built from frame was a 34 5window...currently just have a 57 hardtop.
Nice to see the 57 in race mode, so the 283-250HP, is that with the corvette camshaft , and a pair of Carter WCFB's ?
Thanks....The pic is from 1970 when Tom first painted it white. The car has had a frame off resto...now has the original engine complete with generator and airbath cleaner. I've got a lot of Harvey guys wanting me to repaint it as a tribute to my uncle....maybe,lol. Tom built the engine for it in 66...a 283 fuel injected. It was not originally an injected car, but the emblems were easy to buy, lol. The injected came in 2 options...hydraulic cam was 250 horse....solid cam was the famous 283 horse. Not sure if anyone here frequented Harvey's then, but if they did and remember Tom, he passed away March of 97...He was a firefighter in Brampton and died at work of a sudden heart attack....his x-wife, Linda, if any remember her, died a few years later of a brain embolism. I have a few old Harvey guys wanting me to paint the car in the white Harvey logo again as a tribute....maybe. Here is a pic as the car is now.
Wow, Impressive restoration, beautifull!
Hard to tell from the pic somewhat, but is the paint "Tropical Tourquoise".
That is one of the sweetest 57's i've seen.
Your car, your choice. You have a really nice car that needs nothing to be cool.On the other hand you have a nice car that has an awsome history in the local scene. It is just my opinion but you have an oppertunity to turn another nice 2tone 57Chevy into an awsome rolling piece of history .It would be interesting for people at shows and cruses to ask questions and relate stories about the car scene at the time.I think it would make the car stand out from the rest not just because of its importance in the history of the local car culture but also the grafics are just plane cool anyway.Either way you can't go wrong and thats a nice position to be in.Welcome from Port Hope/Cobourg area. Back in 1961 to 1965 I used to hang out at the Harveys in Richmond Hill.
I had a 61 chev bubbletop with the 350 hp 348 and later had a 62 formal top chev 409 409 hp.
Then I got a 271 hp 289 fairlane.
Knew a lot of the guys that hung around there and cruised Thornhill and Richmond Hill,
Norm Lelliot, Rick Spence, Brad Francis etc. etc.
Beautiful 57 shoebox.
I just sold a SS 55 chev bel air.
Welcome from Mississauga. Spent my time at "Harvey's" on the Lakeshore & Cawthra from 1963 to 1973. My Dad had a BP gas station about a block away. We pretty much cruised the Lakeshore to the Red Barn and Log Cabin. We heard about the cars at the Harvey's at Jane but were pretty content where we were. Good looking 57 and either way, the cars history speaks for itself!! Welcome back and enjoy the scene here....
Greetings from Edmonton,
Harveys Jane and 401 was my second home from 72 til they kicked us out. It was close as I was going to DSS at the time and lived on the base. It was a good time and seemed most young guys were concentrating on going faster and not doing drugs or drinking excessively. I had a green beetle then a 67 camaro rag and then a hot little 67 blue chevelle that was street raced a lot, just to keep the plugs from fouling....lol
Welcome from Woodlawn. Beautiful 57. I saw a fellow at the Webster carshow fleamarket with the Harveys Jane and 401 T shirt. Should have stopped him to say hello.
