i dont know if many of you follow world news but it appears iran is backing away from its anti israel anti american stance with a more moderate president. this brings great hope that some sense of stability to the middle east. why we should care is the possibility of the price of oil dropping considerably, iran is a major oil exporter and the sanctions against them have in part driven energy costs higher. although america seems to need countrys like that for whatever reason they have, lets hope things change. defusing iran could change the world as we know it.

If you think the price of oil is ever going to come down ..you are dreaming in technicolor...Too many tree huggers and Al gores, David suzukies and others that think we should not be using oil to power internal combustion engines..they think we should find away to install solar pistons and wind powered turbos...
Are we? I thought we hit peak Oil some time ago. Unless they find new reserves soon, we will be paying much, MUCH more.
Especially with how the rest of the developing world is beginning to come up to the US levels of consumption (no hard facts here, feel free to correct me if I am wrong)

Gas can drop easily by 10-13 cents per liter, it will go up for sure just before a long weekend, then a few days after it drops back down.
Forget the Liter, multiply the price drop by 4.5 and you end up with 60 cents a gallon difference at times!
We are getting a royal screwing on gas prices.
You're right, we are getting screwed over. gas here today is 1.20, 1/4 mile across the river it's 96 cents in the US. What I can't understand is the gas tankers fill up at the Ultramar terminal just down the road from here , drive across the bridge which is a 5 minute run and fill up the US stations and it's cheaper.

The price of gas goes up and down if someone hiccups! We don't buy gas from Iran - we're an oil exporter - the initial big increase in gas prices wass due entirely to Brian Mulrony - Only PC I've ever hated.

I agree with you there. I topped the tanks up in Burns Harbor Indiana on Saturday.(140 gallons) Paid 82 cents per litre. Will be leaving home shortly to head for North Carolina. Will have enough fuel to make it down to Carlise Pa area. Figure fuel will be about 85 cents/litre there.Still cheaper to buy the fuel in the states and pay Ontario road taxes then it is to buy all my fuel in Ontario. I use about 500 gallons a week. That adds up fast over time!!

Ziggy, just for comparisons, gas here today was $1.28 and diesel was $1.32.
Strange also that at times 200 miles north of here gas will be cheaper than here, by up to 5-10 cents per liter.
Gas is at 1.18 here in Trenton. Go to Belleville and it is .05-.08 a liter more ( 15 minutes East) The screwy part is that that cheaper gas 200 miles north of you was delivered by a tanker that drove right through North Bay!

1.22 here. Canadian oil doesn't come from Iran we get the high priced local kind tar sands, Hibernia and Venezuelan oil. Besides if oil prices dip far enough Ont. will add a "temporary" tax to subsidize Alberta. When U.S. gas dipped last year to 2.75 a gal ours remained at 1.20lt.
