What Will said !!!
Vintage (located in Lindsay) is an excellent company to deal with. I wouldn't give Lant the time of day !!

I am looking for a new insurance company, preferably one with a local agent I can deal with, if something happens.

Currently with RBC and lets say I have been less then pleased with the service, and probably the reason they "Periodically review and update accounts" raising my rates 35% with no claims.....

Do we have any agents on the board?  If you would not like to out yourself to the masses, can you PM me.

Lookiing for house/3-4 cars, hotrod insurance.  So if you are also a Hagerty broker that would be a plus as thats who has my 23 T.

can't blame you, pricks. i was at t-d for some yrs with my personal ****, house-boat-bike-etc. then they started jacking **** up slowly with no claims done. i had been keeping my personal and business stuff separated for yrs and was satisfied with the situation. t-d then jacked the boat and the bike this spring and i told them to keep it. only had the boat in once in 3 yrs and used the bike once also. then the pricks told me it might cause the house policy to rise without not having the package. that was the wrong thing to say.
-i went shopping and ended up with my business guy on the boat and bike saving about 30%. he doesn't do small, hobby, farm stuff and ended with someone else but saved about another 25-30%. been with lant for years on the old car stuff but will shop it this time around also.
-i have my bean counter shop every 2 years on the business side just to keep everybody honest. now i will have her shop the personal side for me also. my agent on the business stuff laughs at me saying that kathy is a shark to deal with. been with him about 8-9 yrs now. it pays to shop.

We ended up with RBC after GM stopped doing auto insurance, which really sucked as we had great service with them.

This year my house magically doubled in value for insurance, hence my rate increase, so I asked them to explain how my house would cost them 1.5 million if it burned to the ground. Apparently I have huge amount worth of belongings in my house and $150,000 worth of detached buildings when I don't even have a shed!

Of course this is talking to the call center folks and a big reason I would rather have a local broker to sit and talk to.

Then we cannot forget that some are also bumping rates in preparation of the 15% reduction supposedly coming in the next year.

Does Lant do daily driver and house stuff?

I went with a new broker this year. Brokers trust in Concord. He lumped eveything and went with Aviva. Dumped hagerty as Aviva was $200 cheaper. With 3 cars and the house, I saved $1000 going with these people and got better coverage and $0 deductable on everything.

Excellent, I will look them up.

Funny Aviva is the underwriter for Hagerty, nothing like cutting out the middle man...lol

Aviva is great till you make a claim . Then be prepared to waste 4 or 5 months listening to there adjusters Lie one after another without skipping a beat. Or you can just accept Penny's to the dollar you paid insurance for. Not that it was inportant or anything. Just my work truck and all the tools I use to make a living was stolen. I can forgive someone for stealing my stuff but 8 years latter Ill beat them to death for making me have to deal with aviva... NOT KIDDING

anyone in for a wager here

"Then we cannot forget that some are also bumping rates in preparation of the 15% reduction supposedly coming in the next year."

-i am willing to bet a 12pk that if the 15% reduction is forced on the ins company's that we will all have a camera on the dash mandatory. the gooberment comes out looking good and the ins industry wins. nothing is free.

-next time on the 401 and stuck behind trucks trying to pass each other and they all got govenors at 112kms think about the double 53ft trailers we have now that the industry biggies wanted. ok you can have them but everybody has to slow down. nothing is free.

just sayin
