Very nice slide show ...lots of interesting stuff to look at ....liked the Gary Beck shirt , mid 60's Falcon , awful-awful Fiat Altered among other things . Do you have an open house ? .....I'm in Windsor area , coupla hours away .
almost too museum like, it looks like they rented a warehouse and dressed it up for a photo shoot
Sorry to disappoint you brother but the shop has been like that for years, we had cleaned it up for our "Fall Mixer" when these pictures were taken.....just a place to hang our junk and build our cars.

Not a hater here Just pure envy. Incredible, very nice, a lot of continuous commitment there. I've been a motor head 50yrs in London and never heard of you guys till I went on this site. Well done.

That would be a fun place for a get together with all the cool stuff on display. I met a few of the ELTA gang at Grumps, and I'm kinda thinking that maybe I do live on the wrong side of TO. I wouldn't mind visiting Fatstax's shop, but from what I hear I would need safety boots and a tetanus shot before entering.
We've always had an open door for any one that wants to drop by.......so any of you brothers/sisters get cabin fever this winter...lol....we'd be happy to have you drop by.

While it IS more club house than fabrication shop, I can assure you that it wasn't staged to look good just for a photo shoot - It always looks that good!!!

Nice shop. I would love to see it some Saturday. Could it be a Saturday afternoon though after dance class???????? Not me and dance class, I mean after I'm finished running the girls back and forth and the wife is home from work. Not that there is anything wrong with rodders and dance classes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very cool club house, your members should be very proud of it.
Whose yellow 33 Willys is that? By the look of it, it's a Ben Thompson (Quite speed and custom) body.

dont get me wrong thats a very impressive clubhouse, most people will never have something that incredible. it must be a pretty good group of people to have their **** together to have a place like that. i agree its not a dirty old workshop for car building, but as you stated elvis you guys did clean it up before th epics were taken which does explain the rather cherry appearance of that place. come over anytime you like hemi, im there pretty much every evening and weekends, and yes wear safety boots as my shop is a work shop, not a ballroom. as for the tetanus shot if you were a true fabricator like me you would have a natural resistance to gangrene as i do.
fatstax..........I understand why you don't really dig the shop......your "gangster"......everyone has their own point of view.....plus "empty barrels make the most noise." I wish you well.
-- Edited by Fast Elvis on Monday 30th of December 2013 11:29:27 PM
why you think i dont "dig" ur clubhouse? i would be happy to have such a place available to me. im sure it was alot of hard work, it likely didnt just happen overnight. do i detect some uppityness, or yuppityness maybe? just sayin. what does empty barrels making more noise have in relation to this?
I can tell yah that, you would have to die and go to "hot-rod heaven" to meet a finer bunch than the guys from the ELTA..No bullchit here, nobody I have ever met in 50 years of hot rodding are nicer guys than the ELTA,..any one of them would crawl through burning rubber and broken gear-boxes and 20 miles of burning oil to help you out..They are the best ambassadors of hot rodding I have had the pleasure to know..I have never heard a word of bad mouthing any body, just positive comments and attitudes they truly know how to make yah feel warm and welcome anywhere you come across one of them..allways a smile and a warm welcome. They embody what commrodderie is all about in this hobby..If you have a chance to spend some time with anyone of them it will be a uplifting experience and you will know you met a brother in this hobby...Just a super bunch in my humble opinion..be a great idea to maybe have an Ont rodder breakfast in early Feb and do a tour of their clubhouse and shop..kinda set the spring mood...
I will do the cooking if the ELTA wants to do a breakfast or you can waite untill late march when I do a breakfast and than a garage tour of shops in the KW area.
WoW Chuk, Will, Ghostpost and 34guy thanks for the kind words.
Fatstax…there's NO uppity/yuppity going on .. it's the old internet mis-interpretation on your part. Mark(Fast Elvis) is one of the most caring and thoughtful guys I know….I know …It sounds all gushy, but it's true. He really cars about the history of local hot rodding and racing, and those that made it. The club has put on birthday celebrations for some of the pioneers of racing and pictures of their cars and "moments" are signed and hung proudly on the walls. When we get donations from the summer bash it goes to charity. We all try to help any hotrodder/racer we can in whatever way possible. We helped in cross country relays of parts. We helped Will in his search for the previous owners of his "T-Bird Deuce". What ever we can and wherever we can!!!
Please don't let the internet mis-understanding get involved in this OK? It is an honest and forthright effort to celebrate and preserve some of the history that may get forgotten.
The club garage has been a long time coming. We have all searched/found/bought/begged and been given stuff to go on the walls and we do it proudly to preserve some of the history of his area. London has always been a pocket of hot rodding from the beginning in the early 50's. ANd just because the shop is clean doesn't mean stuff doesn't get built there. Sam built his Willys 4 dr in his corner. Al did a Cobra. There's been a bunch of fabrication in the shop over the years but no body work or paint, too many guys.
Here's your invitation, I'm retired so I have some time on my hands (that may change as my wife is going to retire on the 10th). So if you would like to see the shop and meet face to face with me or maybe some of the other guys (depending on time of day) call me 226-377-8441, and I will meet you at the shop and give you a personal tour.
Take car everybody and HAPPY NEW YEAR to each and everyone of you

no worries rochie im not misinterpreting anything, i think i was pretty sincere in complimenting that shop for sure, i just dont understand how elvis thinks i dont dig it as he put it, i dont have anything negative to say about it. at first glance it did seem pretty polished up but as elvis stated they did clean it up beforehand so its easy to see why it looks so good in the picture, so if seemed like that was the case, it was not. i would be happy to drop in if i have some time in the near future fore sure. i have found that some people in organizations like that tend to react strongley to things so i think this is the case here so if you felt i was hatin, i was not elvis.
It's all good fatstax.....lets just write it off as a small misunderstanding....I truly do hope you drop by the shop sometime when you get the opportunity.......Happy New Year.

Hey John......it was great having the T Bird Deuce in the shop last summer...I hope we have that honour again for 2014 when we have the 10th Annual. I thought I'd pass along this picture of your sweet roadster hanging out in the shop with those other famous Canadian hot rods...lol.

WOW. -- That is a neat picture. Very nice to be in the company of those two other historic cars. Thanks Mark
I agree with John, Mark, Rochie and Chuck have said. The ELTA is #1 in my book. Real car guys with great rides and a lot of time and expense getting the shop they want it. You'd never meet a nicer bunch of guys. There seems to be a real effort here to stir up **** by a few members and I'm getting kinda tired of it. This started out to be a great site but it seems to be becoming a little mean for my tastes. "Just sayin'"

Fatchuk..lmao..if you only knew how true those pics really are!well done.anyone who knows ELTA,knows what our shop is like, day in and out..we're not doing it to impress anyone, just preserving cool ****.our Pres has more passion and comittment for hot rod history in his big toe, than most guys on this board will ever have.our motto stands. No Goofs.
The critisism on here is pretty sickening. JMO.
Like, can you not find anything creative or interesting to post instead of back biting??? This sure isn't helping this site get new members and grow!!
As Ragtop posted, This site started out to be a fun interesting more or less local ontario rodding site. Now it has gotten to be disgusting at times.

No back biting here................Well not until I get me a new set of choppers ...........

Well, here's how you can be a Hero, and get 2014 on the right foot. Start a "poll" thread asking the members here how they want this forum to go forward.
Have 4 choices;
(A) "keep things the way they are"
(B) "change some things
(C) "keep all topics and comments 100% car related"
(D) "Some people should relax a little bit"
Grumps party last week should be proof enough that things are headed in the right direction. All the joking around in here IMO, is a positive thing and has created many friendships. There's only a handful in here that take offence to the joking around that goes on in here, and I don't think it's worth changing things to satisfy a few. I don't sure don't see "disgusting" or "criticizing" posts from anyone unless they are deliberately taken out of context.
Hemi , I haven't been around here long enough to know all the things you are referring to ...can't be just this thread , must be other stuff as well . Personally , my only other Forum where I have a ton of posts ( 5000+) is in model railroading . You would think that a bunch of old fart model railroaders would get along but that isn't always the case . I guess the proximity ....folks aren't staring each other in the eye , they are unseen and many miles away , .......allows things to be said that really shouldn't . For me , I've always kept any negative opinions to myself unless I'm specifically asked " Waddya think ?" , then I'll give my opinion yea or nay ( they asked ! ) .
Civilty seems to be fleeting in this day and age , but I atleast try to abide by what my Dad always said ..." If you can't say something positive , don't say anything " . I think the Forum should be open to any discussion and maybe folks could use more of those "emotions" or "smilies" ( whatever they're called ) if they're into sarcasm/double meanings etc. , just to notify the guy that might otherwise take it the wrong way .
You've got a decent Forum here , I think ...let's keep it that way .
