Really like the drag car stance. With a rake like that you can fall out the front window if you hit the brakes to hard...love it.

I like your "vision", I have the same one. I was reading your wish list, and it seems like a lot for Santa but I have some door hardware that I'm not using, you might be interested in. Latches, handles, window regulators and cranks. It's all Chrysler stuff but it all works, very adaptable. I'm going shaved and suicide doors. I'm slowly getting this inter web, email, posting, fishnet tech crap, I'll try to get you some pics. What the f$?k does WTF stand for anyway? Good luck on the build, looking good so far!

If....I could make a suggestion. On your suicide spring perch, put the bolts up from the bottom, weld the nuts in, and fab a sheet metal cover to hide the nuts.

Thanks Jarvis, that's a neat idea. It might be a bit pretty for this particular project though, lol

Dave, how about an update list of parts you need so we can check our parts buckets. I have some Koni coilovers from a prowler that might work. Also a prowler steering rack.

Next work day is Saturday.

As you can see in the pictures, the front side bars are not attached to the spring. Glenn is going to make a couple of brackets and tack them on for now. I have some play in the I beam, so it will need to get some machining and honing to make the spindles sit snug. Then the shackles can get welded on properly to the side bars.

The rear trailing arm brackets will be getting more bracing to avoid any left/right flex. And we need to decide how we are mounting the rear springs, and the top bars.

It's great to see it all from the beginning. You get a true understanding of how a car is built, and how everything works.

I'm in Thornhill. I have a few ads on kijiji (Gta)with all my "leftover" parts, tag hot rod. I guess I should post them on here. I'm tired of getting stupid calls from the "general public"! I'm just letting you know about the ads to save posting the pics here. Let me know.

Coil-overs are definitely on my list. I only have Hemikev's mock-up shocks at the moment. What length are they?

I'm going with traditional steering on this one

everything else should be on my wish list in my sig, if not, I'll update it.

Thanks.

To add photos go to the bottom of the text box and you will see an "advanced editor" button, click it and another tab will magically appear called attach images, click that and  choose a photo from the available options  and then the final step is to click the insert tab  and voila. All I seem to use anymore is my iPad too...

What a busy day!

Sorry for the late update people, only just got in from a night out.

Day 7

Ok, first of all...

MASSIVE thank you to Mark from ELTA, for driving all the way to Brantford and dropping off some amazing goodies for me. I now have a steering wheel, and a gorgeous set of gauges!!!

Great stuff you guys.. Glen you should have some knee pads ..Can't tell you how many years I did the same thing on my knees welding and building and working at my trade on my knees on concrete floors..How I wish I would taken a bit more care ...I don't know if would havee prevented the arthritis but If I could go back 20 years I would have had a pad, now I use an old boat seat pad wrapped in many layers of duct-tape and it still brigs a grimace to my face to kneel...Just saying take care of your body cause being a car guy means it never leaves your mind or your craving to keep at it, but it sure as hell gets harder and painfull and not near as much fun when you hit your late 60s and you will, but you never lose the want to and wish you could..The frame is looking real good ,Dave must getting a woody and even if it's freezen out yet just watching the frame come-together smells like spring in the air..

Looks like this fat old man has to get his snowmobile suit on and not go play Got some 5ft drifts in the yard and laneway that need moving ot get outa here to-day and the old girl is getting cabin fever so I best get-to-it.. Sucks..

Great fabrication, really like the simple design of the frame, the speed of work is unbelievable.

We are only 20 hours into the frame.

It only seems fast because it was in the last 2 weeks

I have builds that are over 500 hrs to a driver

If you really want a project done you MUST DEDICATE TIME TO IT

even if its only 1/2 nights or 1 day a week

It helps when you have a wife as great as mine ( dont let her see this)

Well, it's fast because you guys seem to know what you do and want to get it done

For me, I bought the Dodge because I have extra time and wanted something interesting to spend it on. I have never really seen a 30's car this close before so I just take my time and enjoy the view... well rust... but still... if I get it running some day that's a nice bonus...
