you posted a pic quite a while ago (that i am having no luck finding now) showing some of your army memorablilia.  one of your pics showed a display cabinet with a couple of helmets in it.  one of the helmets was quite fancy looking and i think you said that you had never seen another one like it.  any chance you could post another pic of it?  i have found a pic in an old magazine of one that looks very similar to what i think i remember yours looked like.

Here's the helmet; It's a standard M40 helmet, but what I can't find is any information on the decal that's on it. I have never seen another helmet like it, and would like to know what the meaning of it is/was.

Thanks, I will try that. It's been a while since I tried finding any info, so more might be out there now. I did find a place selling a repro decal, but that's about it.

I will see if I can find that Facebook link. Thanks for the tip.

Yeah, that's the repro decal that I also found. My helmet is 100% original, because I know where it came from.

It's a red cross helmet, but not medical. I posted it on Facebook, and they are stumped too.

No, I meant it came from a reputable collector friend in Belgium.

I can't believe you got me searching the Net for Gerry Helmets!

I found this, which is similar to the red cross emblem helmet.. Looks like it might be from Bulgaria/Luftwaffe?

Too bad the museum in Campbleford has shut down, after the owner passed and his sons could not be bothered to keep it going.
He had a great collection of German helmets, WW11 memorabilia. I'll see if I can find pic's that I took years ago.

Holt crap Dave !! Good find !! Not sure what you searched to find it, because I was on the net for a few hours last and never stumbled on this one. (found lots of porn though ).

I will post the link you gave on Facebook to see if I can shed any light on it. Even the Guys over there had never seen this decal. Maybe being Bulgarian has something to do with it. Thanks for finding that.

BTW, the decal is not identical, but close. Mine is red and white, the one in the link has black on it.
