The third annual Hogtown Metal Shaping Meet will be held at my work place on the last weekend of April this year.
I will bring all my shaping equipment from home but we could always use more shaping stuff such as ewheels, hammers, bags, stumps, etc.
Last year we had a poor turn out of English Wheels. This is one piece of equipment extremely important to the meet and I'd hope to see a couple/few more guys make the effort to get machines here.
I have manual shrinkers and stretchers and also the Baleigh power shrinker/stretcher to play with. We have enough TIG welders so we're OK there.
BBQ lunch will be served both days. Both days we will get started at 9:00 AM and go until everyone's burned out or just sick of listening to me.
The meet will be held in the Markham Road/Finch Avenue area in Scarborough.
Hopefully, we'll be able to clear the shop floor of production items to have some space to fit a couple of cars inside.
If you have a large project let me know as the time gets closer, I can see if we can have enough space for everything.
If you wish to attend please reply to this thread so I have an idea of how many are coming.

I am hoping to make it again this year, but will confirm a little closer to the date. I'll bring my wheel and a stump if needed (as long as it is thawed from the ground by then!)

Gotta check with SWMBO, and what's on the calendar. Sounds like it would be a lotta fun to be there.
I have a stump I could contribute, as for other tools maybe a 3 ton arbor press??
Bring your stump along. Arbor press is not required although there is a fellow on MetalMeet.com that uses an arbor press to make shapes. I can't remember exactly how he does it now.

You gotta make again. I mean, hey, you got a wheel. Ha.

ed and i will be there again for sure, this time i wont lose my wallet and be all worried about it.
Looks like Ben and I will be coming again this year. We played with the shrinker stretcher and bead roller last year and now we have them in our shop. This year I'm thinking it's time to see if I can learn how to TIG weld. Thanks Pugsy for putting this show on. Last year was great and I'm sure this year will be even better.

This sounds right up my ally. I would really like to attend but I can't commit just yet. I will know better by the end of March. My apprentice has been off to school this winter and I'm just going crazy trying to keep up.

I think I will bring my cab over fenders, I need to make some patches for them and the steps as well
Excellent.
This is what we want to see at the meet. It gives a chance to make something other than a bowl.
ya i was not too enthused to make a bowl out of a metal disc last year since it didnt have much purpose for me, i am a purpose driven person so fixing my fenders is more productive in my opinion
