Getting hydro bills from Hydro One that you felt were too high?

Well, they estimate now that approx 65,000 could be affected!

The Ombudsman office has now started an investigation into Hydro One after getting over 650 complaints since March.

Complaints of suspected over billing, one lady overpaid by $2400.00 but could not get her money back, only a credit.

Another customer recieved 10 hydro bills in one day, all for different amounts!

Another customer whose home had burned down awhile ago is still getting hydro bills.

The ombudsman office states that trying to get co operation with Hydro one is comparable to wresting a greased pig!

Our family cottage electric bills have been messed since last summer, maybe before that.  My Mom lives up there Apr-Nov but it does not get used much in winter and recent bills are higher than ever. Over paying, multiple confusing bills dated the same day for different amounts,  4 at once one month. Automatic withdraws in multiple, $1200 credit at one point, and no they "can't" put the money back,l we'll just credit for next month, and then more bills and withdraws show up . How do you have a $1200 credit one month, after you sorted it all out over the phone, and among the 3 separate statements received the next month, a $8 charge?   Their answer is that the estimates are based on highest usage months. They can't get a reading because OUR smart meter is not working, and that I should go up there and take a reading and send it in.

We have suspended the automatic withdraws for now. They can send me a bill and I'll figure out how much of it I will pay.

smart meters were only intended for one purpose, wrest every last cent out of ratepayers, either accurate or false, but always in thier favour.  if the meters ever did short change hydro one, well you were on the hook for whatever made up amount they figured you owe.  analogue meters worked fine and rarely ever screwed up.  theres nothing people can do against this unless the masses came together and refused to pay thier bills, fat chance of that happening.

There are people up here in my area, that have moved to a different home they bought over a year ago.
Some have never received a hydro bill yet, in one case for 13 months, and another no bill yet in 14 months!
Another young guy i know bought his first house last August, still hasn't received a hydro bill yet, even after repeated phone calls to them.
Today i found out that a neighbour whose bill always ran right around $190.00 per month, has received the last two bills @ $600.00 & $800.00 for a month. (Note:- Nothing changed in that household, no extra anything that would draw more hydro to drive the bill up!)
WTF is going on in this mess??

none of my business but, automatic withdraws to or for any person-place or thing is just looking for a screwing. i have been down this road with the business. i set up a separate acct that i transfer into for the 2 or 3 things i have to have them for. nuff said.

watch your peeing match with them do to the hydro maybe cut in the winter and stuff freezes up. there is a minimum charge per month even if the main breaker is off. some yrs ago the hunting camp paid about 30.00/? monthly with the breaker off, they win. think about easy water shut down when used and flipping the breaker when leaving. just saying.

this thing with hydro is starting to come to a head i see. another nail in the wynne coffin due to hydro. get our wallets out if you think re-structuring ontario hydro is the cure.
at lunch wednesday with some friends, one guy, larry, complained about his hydro cheque being low cause of the snow this year. he has one stand of solar panel beside his shop about the size of a 45ft trailer, maybe. his cheque was for about 300.00 instead of the usual 800.00 to a 1000.00 . after we were done with him and him buying lunch it still left a bad taste in my mouth. who's the dummy, me, for not doing the same.

I'm afraid to open my Hydro bill lately.   The furnace has been running way too much - the gas bill will only be worse.

We were looking at that program (Micro Fit) when it first came out. A 10kw system that followed the sun was $95,000, and we would get $0.804 per kw. for a 20 year contract. That figured out to about a 17% return on our $$$  The only reason we backed out was we didn't think the Ontario Government would keep their word for that length of time. We'll see.

he left for florida yesterday so i can't get an exact number but i know it was some sort of a deal as he was making bracket's for a big seller-installer around here. if i remember right our cost would of been in the 60-70,000.00 range and he paid a fair bit less and installed his own with their tutelage. he is on the high end of per kw payment. i had a company from vancouver approach me some time ago to put a bunch on my shop flat roof, approx 9,000 sq ft but it got real grey when it came to the point of roof replacement down the road. i had just put a new roof on the front of the building with the offices and 3 hvac's, approx 5500 ft for the tune of 30,000.00 grand so the roof was an issue to me. it was still a kinda hocus-pocus thing back then. it was on their dime and i got points but the roof shut it down.
if i remember i will get closer numbers on how much and the size when he gets back. today they are paying about half of what the early ones are getting. Thanks Dalton. when you drive by a field of them and they have been there for quite awhile, do the math. i still don't know where the 500,000 or so jobs went that was suppose to come with this. Thanks again idiot. we will be bending over on our gas bills before long on his other tuckin shamozzle.

JEEZ its 6 in the morning and i need a drink already thinking about this sh!t.
