That is a great interesting story,, just goes to show that there are still a few out there that have been hidden away for many years.

I guess the skeptic in me wonders if some of these are staged ......it's about the most pristine barn find on the face of the earth .

ya that car is bit tooo mint for being stored for that long, and those tires?  i wouldnt think they would even hold air, ive inflated 60 plus year old tires on old cars before to see the sidewalls blow out, tire technology back then was not good.  no doubt a feel good story though.

yeah, not a chance is that a survivor. Way too mint for 42K's on the Odo and 70 years in a barn...maybe 7 years in a barn after a restoration is more like it

I'm thinking the fenders were pulled and the body resprayed at one time . normally you wont get paint fade on the fender tops but not the hood or the roof. Look at the inner fender on the photo second from the bottom and fourth from the bottom. looks allot like over spray to me .

In 1961 my brother bought a 1939 Dodge coupe from an old man in Kincardine. He was 86 years old and was losing his licence. That car had 24,000 miles from new, every fall the old boy put it up on blocks, and he said that it got rained on only 3 times. Brother took it on his honeymoon in 1962 to Chicago, and a guy offered him $5,000 to leave it parked where it was.

My neighbour had a "Barn Find" car , sold it last year due to his age and health, and was always going to put it on the road, but due to running his business then ill wife he never did. Over the years he had collected a number of spares, engine, trans, fenders, etc, the car needed very little, and the interior was like near new.
It was a 1928 Essex,,,,, and,,,, He had had that car for 58 years and never drove it!!
Advertised it in old autos, it was gone the next afternoon the paper came out. It is presently being refinished by a shop in the area.

I think I posted this before but there were these clowns on kijiji selling "barn finds", they would post pics of cars they supposedly found in a barn, funny it was always the same barn that each car was being "towed" out of, funny they faded away after a few cars they tried to sell

Sounds like how my current, mothballed truck project is going to go. 10 years in my garage already. Wish I started with something more vintage...but by the time I send it down the road, it will be. Right now, I cant even give the damn thing away.
