Is it just me, or is this long, extreme, cold winter taking a toll on anyone else's body? I feel like I aged ten years! I'm aching all the time and just tired!

I'd rather be in the garage! I'm old school, I use the "inches" side of the measuring tape!
The older we all get, the more aches and pains show up. Forecast is for a COLD march now,
which fits with the rest of the winter we have had.
Hopefully it flips fast back to milder around the end of march.
x2 on the aches and pains. it's quicker to say what doesn't hurt than what does!!!!!!! I don't give a rats $ss if i ever see another flake of snow or minus temp again..........

And here I thought it was just me!! Now I don't feel as bad
I'm like that but it's not the long winter. I've been that way a few years. I take Naproxin ( generic Aleve) twice a day and I feel great. If I stop taking it, I start to ache.

Are there any long term problems? Side effects?I find my aches and pain are getting worse too.
No, in fact it seems to be a wonder drug. You can buy it OTC as Aleve and give it a try. If it works, ask your doctor for a prescrip. It's a lot cheaper in the generic form (naproxin) and the dosage is a bit higher.
I'm on Naproxin for my arm problem. No drowsiness, and is working great. As long as I don't forget that the pain is just being masked at the moment, lol
The long COOOOLD winter is taking more of a toll on me mentally - yes, this winter is making me mental! Well, more mental I guess. I shovel snow for about 2 hours a night at a high school in the big city so the kids can get in in the morning - sometimes 3 or 4 hours according to dumpage, wind etc... and when it's all over, I go home and plow, snow blow and shovel at home too! Yesterday morning was yet another challenge. It was so deep and dense that even the plow was having a hard time cutting through it. I had to keep backing up and take a run at it. I couldn't push it all to one side as I usually do because with the blade on an angle it just shot the whole truck sideways on impact with the pile front. With the blade straight I managed to bust through after about 35 or 40 shots. So then with large piles on each side that promote more drifting (= more snow) I set about snow blowing the accumulations about a, 1/4 mile to the east. Then back to the plow to losen some more stiff snow and widen the drive a little more. I'll wait for another day or two to widen it out the rest of the way. Man, I sure have used a ton of gasoline this winter, but thankful to have the equipment to get through it all.
Back: Tolerating it. Mind: Losing it!

Now you all know why I am selling everything and moving to South Carolina,I have had enough of these winters up here,55-60 mostly all winter down there, drive your toys everyday, maybe the odd day at 36-40 degrees, but that would feel like a heat wave compared to this morning, dog went for a pee and didn't even bother with the rabbit at the end of the driveway, came running back to the house. After 2 back surgerys and shovelling snow what cures my ailments is some Carolina Creek Water.:)

Watch your liver, especially if you like the odd beverage.

I have some serious experience with Aleve. The bottle specifically says on my 220 mg bottle of liquid gels...take only 2 in a 24 hour period.
I highly recommend the gel vs tablet because its much faster acting. I take it for much different reasons. I buy 160 gels at Costco for $24. Which is same price than USA. I used to bring them across all the time until they sold them in Canada. The difference between dr. prescribed Naproxen and Aleve is that Aleve is coated which makes it far easier on the stomach. I have IBS so I have an extrmely sensitive stomache. I have swolled anywhere form 2-15+ a day for 7+ years now. I can only imagine how my liver is yet i have no choice. I buy alot of these. I always have a pocket full. I am a very large man. It doesn't affect me at all. My mom whom is 1/3 my size will get knocked out cold and go to bed for 8 hours. I guess it affects people differently. What it does for me is loosens constricted blood vessels in my head. Sometimes works, sometimes does not. I have lower arthritis in my back, permanently torn ligaments and tendonsin my ankle, and muscle tension in my neck and it does nothing for any of that. My head. Different story.
I highly recommend it. But don't take more than 2 in 24 hours. Despite me eating them like candy. I have my reasons.
2 thumbs up for the gell. My reaction time gel vs tablet is 30 min to waiting well over 1 hour for a tablet. For me.seconds count
My back issues started around nineteen and now I take one 250mg Toradol(anti inflammatory) only when absolutely needed.Reduction in sugar and glutten elimination from my diet has brought the greatest relief.I watch what I eat and how much.At Hallow'en I over did the candy while handing it out, I hurt for three days straight after.

YES!!! My broken ribs remind me of the weather, and the hand I broke 15 years ago.
I had both ankles crushed in an auto accident and no longer have fuild beween the joints. The cold gets in there and can cause discomfort. I no longer use any type of pain killer. Pills are evil. I use and reccommend a hot tub for pain relief.
PS: I repair and sell Hot Tubs if anyone is looking (shameless plug).
i found that once you accept the fact you are not 20 years old anymore has a major impact on the feats of strength. i dont throw railway ties over my shoulders or do stupid lifting like i used to, so i havent had any back issues for ages. i squished my left foot 11 years ago and it bothers me a little now and then. other than that losing a few pounds and giving up the booze has helped alot
