only took me 1 hr, 30 clicks on the speedo to move the truck 50 ft from the backyard. gotta move it before the thaw, made that mistake one year, not again.
My little guy "Riley is waiting too..he likes to chase rabbits and chipmonks and critters in the bush but it's just to crappy to take him to the back of the farm..and he hates to look like this..makes him feel likw a ...........t
Had to watch the granddog last night the boy got called for a 12 hour shift and his sweety got called for a buisness thing in the soo,so we had to watch Max the biggist , smartest, dumb, deaf, rotti,,
Beautifull sunny morning, clear blue sky, a real treat!!
High today is in the low plus's, but another 2-4cm's of snow tonight.
The loggers have put on two shifts now hauling 24/7, trying to get as much out of the landings before 1/2 load season starts.
The local firewood dealer has his wood processor running steady , heard yesterday he is approaching the 300 cord mark, still has lots more to go.
This extened winter weather has been good for many people, but everyone is getting a bit tired of it and looking forward to breakup.
Re: Mikes Post =21c two years ago:
Store owner here today told me 2 years ago on the 21st of March he took his boat out to the island where his cottage is on Lake Nipissing.
Lake Nipissing now still has 42 inches of ice covering it along with a good 24 inches of snow.
BIG change this year!!
It has been this late before in past years, but again the ice has been gone also around the first week of march in past years.
The 42 inches is in shallower water, the main big lake has around 30 inches, this has been an excellent ice year for trucks hauling building supplies or gravel to islands or water acess only cottages for septic systems etc.
And,,, of course the Ice Fishing hut rental business has been great.
So depends on where you live, sometimes it's a poor year other times a great year.
I had one up a tree in the yard a few days ago.Right on about the small but with a bad attitude.Just like the possoms we have down south, get to close to them and they will charge at you.I think a Martin and a Fisher are from the same family?

Besides rabitts, one of the main diets of fishers are porcupines, they flip them over on their back, then rip the stomach out in one bite, the porcupine belly has few quills and they're softer.
Fisher pelts bring pretty decent dollars depending on the market, i think they run an average of $300.00 or so each.
Those pics were taken with a trail cam mounted on a tree above a deer carcase.
That would have been an interesting video , wonder how many wolves were in the group.
