I don't leave home without mine,in fact I don't go to the shop or to work outside without it. It's just a safety thing in my opinion. Tmj
Same here !!You can tell it's the older members here that bitch about cell phones, because the older you are, the more opposed you'll be to technology like this. There's nothing wrong with them if they're used properly. They're just another tool.

Agreed, great for saftey reasons,, the problem is now that the dumb majority of the people that have them , are addicted to them, and never use them for normal situations.
Another stage in the "Dumming Down of America".
I have one of those old carphones from I think the 70s, with the handset the size of a brick. Can you still get them activated or do they work on a different system. Ed
Smart phones today are mobile computers. Using them as a phone is probably the least used function on them. All the cell companies offer unlimited, anytime, Canada-wide minutes now for next to nothing. Why,,,, because they know the majority of people don't phone. They make their money selling data gigabytes. Smart phone users email, text, message, calculate, enter memos, hear reminders, check schedules, take pictures, manipulate pictures, check the calender, view the weather, check the time, check their stocks, use the flashlight, use the dog whistle, play any game, go on facebook, go on any forum, use the compass, use the gps,,,,,,,,it just goes on and on and on. They are one of the most fantastic technological devices ever made. Anyone rejecting them is really losing out IMO.
A few years ago, I did use mine as a phone. I fell off a ladder in the back of a semi trailer. It was parked in the back of the yard where there are no passers by. I didn't realize how badly hurt I was and after about a half hour of trying to get up, I phoned 911 and directed the police into the yard and over to the trailer. I would have suffered there for 24 hours or more before being found had I not had the phone on me. Best use of a cellphone ever for me.
This picture was taken and manipulated on my Iphone. No wonder Kodak went tits up lol.

What's a normal situation ?? Like Roger said, these are not just phones anymore but small powerful computers. Not to start a war here, but damn some you old Guys are just like Archie Bunker. You'll complain about anything that wasn't made in the decade you were born.
my phone has many function that i probably will never use but it s pretty cool to travel and if i need any info i can stop at macdonald use the wi fi signal and e mail any where in this world for free ...was pretty handy a few days ago when i went to Toronto and the stupid gps didn t work or was lost ........i just email a friend and he gave me a few info and he had me on and off that stupid 401 and finally heading home
every body knows how useless it is to stop at a gas station in TO and ask for info .......cause everybody there don t even know how to get anywhere if there not using the subway or tramways or buses .......there lost
i don t know why people would be call stupid when they pull over to use their cell ........when they re just following the law
Have you seen police videos of inattentive people smashing into the back of cruisers? Best to find a parking lot or at the very least a side street or even better yet, do what I do: Ignore until you reach your destination! I keep my phone in my front pocket and from a sitting position with the seat belt on, it would be tough to reach it before it stops ringing anyway - not even tempted.

The law says you can't use a hand held device while '"behind the wheel". This could be interpreted as moving or parked. If you are caught sitting in your car behind the wheel drunk with the keys in the ignition, engine not running, you can be charged with DUI, DRIVING under the influence.
Let the games begin.... I mean continue.

Looks like you need both sides. It might have the heat waves in it, or maybe not, I can't remember, I wasn't paying much attention to it. For all I know, it could be mint, but I'll have a look at it, it's only a couple mins. away.
