Took Barb and Robyn to Port Huron Michigan 72 miles away overcast and cool Went to SCC and picked up Robyns stuff and I picked up Andrews ARP head bolts for 6.0L Fords When to Harbour freight for a set of 3 step drills for 8.99 (reg 19.99) and a set of magnetic trailer or car/truck taillights 9.99 (reg 29.99) and a tarp for 2.99 and 4 350/410-4 tires and tubes and RIMS (gold) for $ 5.99 each
Went to Golden Corral for all you can eat 30.70 for 3 adults including beverages….
Robyn dragged me to some place Andrew and Reeve like called Hobby Lobby place was filled with gas and oil and beverage signs !!!!
I didn't want any but they were 50% off so I had to save money

Nice to see many of those old signs being printed/sold again.
Those little tires and rims are a bargain at that price, but i've heard , keep them out of the sunlight.

It pays to be honest, have your receipts and be prepared to pay if they ask. Same deal happened with me returning from Detroit Autorama a few weeks ago.
Yup four a hours drive sometimes it just pays to make a day trip there. Car parts can be a really good deal but you have to do your homework.
I always try to support local first but when its 50% diff its hard to say no. I will only go if im buying a large amount ,not a 100 bucks.
Agree with Wills post ....be honest and have your paperwork and story straight in order to avoid all the headaches.
Pay the tax and be on your way.

Last week we had just under $500 between the two of us and they let us go.
Two years ago I bought a new truck with new plates on it and on the way over before we even stopped at the booth(american side) a siren sounded. We got sent in to be checked and they went all over the truck. We never get any problem on either side.

A few years ago,I was putting an addition on our house, and needed three 7X9 insulated overhead garage doors. Since we have a business in our town, I like to buy locally as well. Went to my local lumber yard to get price on doors. $1000. a pop here. Went over to Port Huron, and went to the Home Depot, and got all three for $750. From there we went to the Olive Gardens, filled our faces there and came home. Same thing at the border. Alcohol?, tobacco?? See ya.

any of you border guys heard about some ferry, boat, around the port huron area. brother in law in london says he uses it once a month or so. he is a contractor and brings stuff in for the trade. just curious is all.
Yes that ferry is a good 30 min off beat and path. I did it once. They jamb the cars together so close. If your car is detailed well bring a chamois. I'll never do that again.

We use it in the summer especially on weekends The Big Bridge wait can be 2-3 hours The ferry not so much We love it and a little water never hurt our rides
