Got the valance piece made and installed. Didn't want to cut the dash. Had it clamped on with vice grips to see if I liked it. Wish I could have made some curves instead of angles but it will do the trick and if I don't like it down the road I can try to make another.

Working on my son's 74 olds omega, pulled the motor changed the heads from 8's to 5's with 2.07 in and 1.68 ex.. Did a CIL rebuild on the rest and a new 2400 stall. Lots of detailing to do yet. I'll post pics when I learn how.

Buffed the hell out of 4 rims I had picked up with a complete suspension for the 57 and put them on . Dropped the truck about an inch which works out well right now as the ground is still heaved in front of the garage door. Was a pain to have to let the air out of the tires to pull it out and then fill em back up Got a good 1/4 " to spare now....... anyone looking for 6 bolt rims I have some going cheep also a full sized spare for a newer silverado .
Tidied up the garage a bit today....Hopefully, tomorrow it will be warm enough to power wash all the salt stains off the concrete floor. Maybe wash some cars too

Was getting ready to lay down some pistripes on the wheels when Number 2 son stops by for some work on his car. Replaced the broken plastic splash shields under the front end from the winter damage, run over to the US for brake rotors/pads only to find out inner pads still showing 5o%, Oh well there done now, mounted the summer tires, oil change and he's good to go again. Talked to Hemi43 about Bill 173 after he got off the phone with John O'Toole his local MP, the more you dig into this the dirtier it's looking. According to John the 5 truck inspection stations along the 401 are being revamped into mega inspection stops. Got the wheels striped this morning!

Not looking for rims but , I do have a buddy looking for a rear axle to fit that truck.
We picked up 3 10ft 2 1/2 inch diameter exhaust pipe,2 high flow cats,2 magnaflow mufflers, and headers. Then son finished painting his frame and layed 1st coat of paint on motor. Yup, typical rattle can job, no such thing as sending it out for paint, powder coating. This isn't TV. Its a 15 yr old with his 1st hotrod.
Made a run to Port Huron to pickup parts for the kids car yesterday and stopped at my daughters to visit the El Camino. It started after a few short cranks and purred like tiger, can't wait to beat on it.
After my winter project getting buried by two feet or better snow and ice before I could get it to the shop I gave up on that project I planned on building .this past Tuesday morning, got out of bed before work(not my usual trick) and realized the car was not only in eyesight finally but the lawn was hard enough to drag it to the front of my shop . I may even get a start on last years work soon! Woo hoo even have people eager to work on my stuff for a change.
