They are doing it all over my neighbour hood too. All small house here with huge lots

My lot is 50x300 realtors are trying to buy 75 ft of the back of mine and 5 neighbours

to build 10 townhouses on. Fat chance of that happening. I built my own house ,told them when they got

the other 4 properties I will build another and sell it on my own lot !!

Our lots are 66x800. I bought the old cottage and the lot next door so they couldn't build on it. Gives me 132 x 800. Not huge but enough elbow room to be comfortable. Know what you mean about developers. Screw up great old areas with monster houses.....

Lot are set up to go from road to road. Have road frontage with all services on both ends. Mine has bush all the way back. City wants to put road at the 400 ft mark but nobody will sell. We like the quiet .

its going on everywhere. who the hell is buying them all? older lady west of me, 700-800ft, at the end of a field of mine sold her hovel for cheap-cheap after i had already told her no thanks. some wheeler dealer masonry guy around here buys it for 79,000 to tear down and build a big shack. guess he should of done more homework. the lots to small so all he can do is tear down the shack and build on the same foot print and i know the septic is screwed. he has been bugging me for a 20ft strip around his pc to add on and all that does is give him enough to meet minimum for requirement so he can build bigger.
small area around here, belleville, so most people know someone who knows someone, etc, and some of my buds that build say truck him. he has screwed some people over the yrs and it shows well on him.

It's one mans dream on another mans dollar. His brother designed it and the owner is having it built. First level is garage, indoor pool 2bedrooms living and kitchen. The upright thing is a stair case to get up to the master bedroom. It looks out across the street over to the lake. Not a old mans house. Gotta be 80 stairs to get from first to master bed. Going to be sided in black....will post pics as he goes along...

If this guys brother designed that thing is he an Arcitect?
That upper floor with the windows in the end wall looks much like the designer "Frank Lloyd Wright" weird house, think it was named "falling Water". It's a tourist attraction.

At 152 Ft long, how is he heating that ugly thing?

FLW designed some bizarre dwellings but also some fantastic ones. I suspect the innards of this ugly duckling may surprise you.

Yeah his brothers an architect . My daughter came back from Europe and said there is houses like that all over the place. Nothing special there. Think he stole some of the ideas from Wright. Heating is under floor radiant. Boiler system heats it for the house and pool. 3rd floor is heated by a small heat exchanger and air is like a motel unit. As far as the big ugly fence he only has windows in the stairway and one at the side door looking out at my place. If I build a shop in front of his side door that blocks that and I can fly a great big Canadian flag from the trees to block the other 2 . It's different alright. Cool in one way weird in several ways....

Not for residences following municipal regulations. I'd like to see photos of this thing when it's done. I suspect it's going to look a fair bit different what's the wall finishes are done and the windows are in. Keep in mind the building goes up the windows are cut open until after. I'd sooner live next-door to something like that then the hacksaw Jim type with a rundown house , Dirtbike track and **** parked all over his property.

Maybe he/she is a retired Laker Pilot. Looks like a wheelhouse up top. Neighbors.....I've got a retirement developement next to my place, too much money, too much idle time and nothing of substance to spend either on. Got 17 different lots along one of my lot-lines who all think they can tell me what I can and can-not do on my place. I'm generally a patient guy but some of these a$$hole$ p!ss me off, then I ask if they want help packing to move somewhere else.....anywhere else.

The windows you see on this side are all the windows he's putting in. Other side of house has all the sliding glass walls.

Unfortunate for you but maybe not him. Perhaps he's making a statement about what he thinks of your place... Not trying to be a dick, You may have a nice place and you might have a dump who knows... To me it would be an ideal set up I don't have to look at them they don't have to look at me

perfect

Yeah my place is an old 1920s cottage so it's pretty plain. When I'm finished it will still be plain but with new windows, siding , roof,,, you get the picture. Don't get me wrong...I like the fact he has only a few windows on that side. Wish he didn't have any so they couldn't see me out in the back in my thong.......who knows... If I was 35 years younger and had a big bag of cash I just might build a future house too....but with a 6 car garage .

I live in the city right now with the nice neat yards and pretty gardens. I can't wait until I get the chance to spread my stuff all over the place and live like Jim. That is why I bought that property......HACKSAW JIM.....here I come...you all can come over and ride my dirt bike.

I'm thinking he better have 5 foot ventilation  fans sticking out of the place somewhere. That indoor pool will do the place in , in no time. maybe thats why he is using black siding so it blends in with the mould.

Pool is a separate sealed unit. Patio door separate it from the rest of the house...some kind of an air exchange system for the pool area..all i could think was if you filled the pool in you could get 3 more cars in the garage...
