What's the story behind your Nickname?

OK, we've got a great thread going to put a face to a name - there are some pretty cool names BTW.

So how did your Nickname or User name come to be?

I'll kick things off with my own Nickname which carried over to the farm I bought 15 years ago.

Fordy was given to me by the late great Gray Baskerville, who's own nickname was "Yer 'Ol Dad". Gray was on a 'ride along' during a leg of the Hot Rod Power Tour and wrote a couple of words in the magazine about my cars and the jouney to get to the Tour or "Make the Scene" as he put it.

"Ol' Dad was awesome and had quite the lingo - anyone who read a Hot Rod Magazine story of his always looked forward to the next one because of his signature style and wit! He sure is missed in the Hot Rod world as we know it!

OK, what's you story?

You could say "I'm a bad a$$ and use the name as a constant reminder"!

Mine is the original name of the all Mopar club a buddy and I started in Ottawa

Capital Area Rapid Transit Association

Unfortunately when it came to register the club name OC Transpo Ottawa,s bus company thought Rapid Transit would confuse people with the buses.

The club was renamed Capital Area Mopars

My father owned a service station when I was growing up, I pumped a lot of gas. I also drove the gas guzzlers, when I was in High School, aside from the performance cars. The days when most people were buying K-cars, Horizons, Citations, Chevettes, Tempos and Fiestas, I'd drive a Buick Wildcat, or a Marquis or...400ci or so, were the cheapest cars to buy.

I was called a Gas-o-olic by my friends, or Gaz-o-olic (for the Frenchies), as they all had to pitch in gas money, to go anywhere.

My user/nickname is an abbreviation of this.

Mine came from playing poker...my favorite starting hand is TWO JACKS (aka Fish Hooks). It caught on after a while, which turned into a definitive nickname and has been since 2008.

My dad gave me mine. When I was a kid and didn't get enough sleep I would be grumpy and a general pain in his a55. The name stuck and everyone called me that, I can't remember the last time friends and family actually used my real name.

Back in the late 70's the hot motor to order in a new Trans Am was the T/A 6.6 400. I pulled my 400 out and put a 455 bored .030 over giving it now 462 cubic inches. That's how I came up with TA462.
