The second one was in late 80s early 90s and it was the local auto workers union. They also did nothing to protect me.

The one thing they did do with regularity was collect their Union Dues.  A totally useless  waste of money and I blame all the job losses in Niagara on the Unions and their ridiculous wages.

Well the election is over and we all know the result. I have been pissed about it since. Basically the majority of voters in this province have said it's ok to waste Billions of our tax dollars. I think it is time to divide this province into a couple of smaller provinces. Obviously the GTA calls the shots and the rest of the province has no say. There has got to be something better than this **** system.

If things keep going down hill in Ontario there will be a mass exodus out as happened in Quebec when the Separatists got in in 1976. Montreal used to be the financial capital of Canada till 76 when the **** hit the fan. Toronto grew as a result of Montreal's loss to what it is today. Quebec became a have not province after that and now too much Government interference has caused Ontario to be classed as a "have not" province.

Hudak had the right Idea but unfortunately came out and said he would get rid of 100000 Gov Jobs. If only he had kept his mouth shut and done it quietly through attrition over the years.

All I can say boys and girls is to bitch and wine about everything you aren't happy with that the Liers try to pass. Write your Members letters, Sign Petitions, Write letters to the editors Etc. We the people have the power if we are not too lazy to use it.

Just a bit of parlimentary procedure here and an interesting thing too.
There was never a "non-confidence vote" taken on this magical budget from the Liberals that people think that Horwath turned it down and it's the same one she's going to table in this new term of government by the way. Up until the election was called it was all just a bunch of talk about who would support who, like testing the waters. There was never a chance for your MPPs to vote because the Liberals called the election themselves 2 days before the MARS scandal was to come out! This was a way the Liberals delayed another scandal for wasting more of our money. I believe the Liberals did this to stop the news of another scandal coming out and make the voters blame Horwath for the election causing her party to lose votes! If the election were called by a non-confidence vote on the heals of another scandal the election may have turned out very differently my friends.

Pretty sly people they have behind the scenes in politics eh?
Just like sex, it's all in the timing......

Rocketman

I'm afraid your wrong about the letters, whining and bitching. The Liberals have been handed 4 year of no accountability and answer to no one.

as a long time small business owner, 28yrs, with a dozen employee's of which over 1/2 of them being with me for 20yrs plus, we are "TRUCKED", period. wtf just happened.
-sad to say but i am glad i am on the backside of playing the game. #1 priority now is to hang on to what i have scrimped and saved for with my ass and my bank account on the line wanting to leave it for the kids and grand-kids to get a better shot through.
-obviously we deserve what were gonna get, then some.----nuff said. oops 1 more, good luck all.

Couldn't agree more with you Shag:

I am also a small business owner in Auto repair for 40 years..I am going to be 73 on my next birthday..This is my last year I will shutting it down this Nov..I would like to have just been able to keep working till I physically couldn't..But I can no longer afford the over-head and tax burden with this Liberal Government ..Just way to many fees and costs to keep it to-gether any-more I was hoping for a Conservative Government ..Even just getting rid of the College of trades would have been a motivator ..But the Liberals have just make it hell to operate a small business with just 3 employees..and the cost to me if and when the introduce a Ontario pension..thats it I am finished come Nov..and that will Put 3 guys out of work..Life has become really tough to eek out a living under a Liberal Government in the Private sector..

And I will never eat Orville-Redinbocker ..Popcorn again...Totally depressing

Sounds a little bit like Obama Care in the US....forcing people to buy health insurance whether they can afford it or not. Democrats/Liberals.....same kettle of fish....smelly fish

me thinking this a sign of times to come

gas pump.jpg

this was taken yesterday at the garage in foxboro. it is owned by bill who's family has owned it since 1924. the current tanks are 10-1/2yrs old. he put the sign up thursday on the gas pump. the diesel has been done for about a week or 2.  the tanks were still ok and his record keeping data was spot on but they want an upgrade on the sensors or something to the tune of approx $15,000.00 and he just gave up. when he put them in it was about 30,000.00 and he figures he hasn't recouped all that yet. when i took the pic i told bill that i was going to put it on here and he asked me for a request, "please thank all the wonderful people at the TSSA for him"

-

that one scares me to ponch, the pension thing. i have had an in house pension plan now for my guys for at least 20yrs. i put in they put in to a capped amount. it is direct into an rrsp account per individual. most have been smart about it and even put in extra but there are a couple who take it out as fast as i put it in and i can't stop it cause theoretically its there money. wonder what the lesbian will figure on that one to truck me over. i don't know if the interest free loans for numerous cars-trucks and mortgage down payments come into play. probably not.

-and then they wonder why people drink a lot of beer.

"The Ontario Retirement Pension Plan, which would be mandatory for those who don’t already have a workplace plan, is aimed at helping middle-class earners save more for retirement."

If your business already has a plan it "should" not change anything.

I see one huge ass fight coming before they can shove this down our throats.

I got this letter from the pres of the Conservative party..

Chuck

Friends and fellow Party members,

Like you, I was disappointed with the election results from last Thursday.  We lost badly in a very important election, with conditions in place that should have been in our favour.

We had excellent candidates, campaign teams, and riding associations working very hard - in some cases for several years - to do everything they could on the ground to win.

Many of you have opinions as to what happened, and ideas about what needs to change.  The Party Executive, including myself as President, are elected by and accountable to you, the membership, and would like to hear your opinions and ideas before we begin the process of rebuilding.

Before we can make changes, we need to diagnose the problems that need to be fixed, that have resulted in four consecutive defeats.

As a first step, in the coming weeks, I will be working with the Executive as we travel the province to host a series of regional meetings so that we can hear directly from our candidates, campaign teams, riding associations, and members.  We are committed to listening to you first, to hear directly from the people who worked so hard and who talked to millions of people at their doorsteps.

I will be back in touch with you soon so that you're aware of these important regional meetings that I hope you will attend.  In the meantime, feel free to share your thoughts by emailing me at richard@richardciano.ca.

Sincerely

My response to Richard..

Richard..

Thank you for your e-mail.. Mostly what I have to say is where in hell were you going into this ? Kinda late now that we lost again. My Member is Randy Pettipiece for Perth Wellinton. I spoke with Randy after the last leadership convention ,we had an lengthy conversation about this and I told Randy then a year ago  we were going to lose this election if we went with Tim Hudak..Randy pretty much convinced me to support Tim..What a joke!!! This election was ours to lose and we Lost strictly because of Tim Hudak’s weak poor campaign and I did not see much effort on the party executive to correct these stupid words ..Tim was never a good choice for a leader..I told Randy that everybody I spoke to in my life, my travels, I am pretty active with many clubs and local events and municipal politics and NOBODY ..NOBODY..absolutely none had any good words for Tim..Hudak..He may be a great guy,a great father ..but he is not a leader ..never was..I am extremely disappointed in the leadership ( you included if you made the choice to go with Tim) ..I can’t hardly have any faith in you or the leadership of the Conservative party as whole if you are that stupid as to not be on the ball and have this organized and ready to hit the ground running..We knew this election was coming soon..It was not a surprise..What was a surprise is just how incompetent the Conservative party did in the election..What an Idiot as to run a election all the while telling people you are going to lay off !00,000 employess I am certain that cost us 500,000 votes .. …What an idiot..And the Party did squat to turn that around..Where the hell were you ??? I put some of my hard earned cash into support the campaign …I feel like I should have burned that..This was no joke ..This was a very important election to Rural Ontario..and You need to take responsibility for running such a poor candidate as Tim Hudak..You shoulda Known …As President that is your job!!!!..I can tell you as it stands right now ..I am not even sure I want to support the Ont Conservative Party anymore..This has cost me me, my business..as a self employed automotive Mechanic with 2 employees ..I will be shutting my business down come sept ,I am trying to keep it going till I have start paying heat again ..but I am finished ..I can not justify any more of the outrageous heat and hydro bills, the College of trade license fees and or the changes that look to be coming via bill 178 that the Ont MAJORITY Liberals will be forcing down my throat..I hold you and the party personally responsible for a piss poor campaign and totally responsible for this loss in the polls..I no longer have any confidence in this party..I will be looking long and hard at where I will throwing my support in the future and right now now I do not feel like I want to be a Conservative anymore ..Right now I am totally disgusted with You,Tim Hudak and rest of the Conservative Party..I feel that you deserved to lose with such a piss poor campaign..I think I going to have a good look at the NDP and or the Freedom Party ..They at least had intelligent leaders..not some cow-eyed idiot ..who thought he win votes talking about his kids..thats all fine and fuzzy warm stuff but we needed a shark and Tim Hudak is a damned Carp..WE depended on The Conservative party to ready, have a serious plan , have it vetted and checked with all the candidates prior to Tim running off at the mouth with that dumb **** Flinstone campaign..I gather you can tell by my tone ..I AM ONE PISSED OFF VOTER..and at this point in time I am not considering putting my support behind the a really bad Conservative Government that let me and the Rural people in this Province Down..You shoulda known or at the very least you should have seen this within the first week and had Hudak shut his mouth …Where the Hell were you any way…you just stole 4 years of my life and cost me my business and  my employees their job..Yah think you deserve our Support??????? I don’t feel that winning feeling with you after being let down so badly….Best fo luck but right now t0-day I don’t want to be a Conservative until I see some action and a leader with passion and balls..and I am not seeing that yet..Christine Blizzard should have been the choice at the last leadership convention but all the brain dead conservative executive think tank instead chose that loser Tim Hudak…kinda makes you a loser too…in my angry humble opinion…………………………

What a great reply that was. You hit all the points that cost the P Cs the election. As in the last election it was Hudak running off at the mouth that did all the damage and the strategists for the party should be flogged for taking that approach to an election. The whole PC party needs a major overhaul if they ever expect to win an election again.

Very well stated Chuck, when he added that "I will fire 100,000 civil servants when we get elected" I knew they were going to lose.
Then when the unions started attacking with untruthful statements, like firing firemen and EMS workers, who are NOT Provincial employees, the conservatives did nothing to rebuke the statements.

When your'e stupid enough to state your'e going to get rid of the 100,000, your'e naturally going to loose a minimum of 400,000 votes just in relatives/family of those 100,000!
Then to also state your'e going to create 1 million new jobs,,,,,,,,,,,,, ? Doing what?
Most of the manufacturing is gone from Ontario, and the equipment has been exported.

I really question the mentality of the whole PC bunch there, to not see that.

It was similar to Hudak saying he would not support the budget(s) before they had even been presented. That action took him right out of the political conversations in the press and handed control directly to the NDP. Everyone knew he was going to vote it down so why bother asking him anything.

I must admit I am depressed about the majority the other party obtained but I agree it was the PC's who lost it. We now have to suffer four years under the direction of thieves, liars and cheats. You know the process will start anew. They are entitled to their entitlements.

I think if the PC party was smart they would replace the whole executive board. These people know they screwed up. Just resign. Get rid of Hudak from the spot light. You cannot have a loser representing the party now.

I think that if Hudak just silently stood on the podium, pointed at Orval and said nothing more than "Our party can do a better job than them" the PC's would have won.

Excellent reply Chuk. All BS aside, I believe you would be a true representative of how a political party should be operated. Too bad that we can't clone you X1000, and get these candy a$$es out of there. You certainly got my vote.

That was pretty interesting..I had no idea..pretty sad when 35 % of the population controls the whole of Ontario..But I wish those 32,000, had put their vote to better use ..I agree it's great to protest unfortunately those declined ballets may the very ones that might have made a difference..I guess it's easy to be a Monday morning quarter back..I do understand just how frustrated people are ..We have a reached a place where so many people are just fed up with the whole bunch .. But I still believe we are better off in a democracy ..I just watch Sun news to see the rest of the world..and still,  I am grateful to Live in a free country..Just have take an anger management course eevry couple months till we get to Take the Liberals to task in 4 or 5 years..Hopefully by then the conservative will be ready with some  new passion and faces ...I think we could have won this if we could have had Rob Ford for a leader..Thanks for the link..I also forwarded it to my MP, and the Party president, as well as several other members of the Conservative executive..

I think you may be right about the Rob Ford thing

I've said to a few friends , Toronto city hall IS a circus - the biggest clown really should be in the center ring leading the show

considering the other candidates I would prefer he get reelected  - just like shoveing a dog poo pie right back in their faces

I would love to See Rob re-elected to Mayor of Toronto..Just to piss off those elitist bastards in Toronto.. Remember he was never charged with anything..he never stole a dime of taxpayer money..I am hoping Rob gets his **** to-gether and holds it..we have 4 months to see if he can get his act to-gether and keep it ..I am for giving him a second Chance ..but the snobs in GTA will probably end up with Chow-chow..or Tory..more trouble and expense to hard working private sector working middle class..But those sexual deviants the run the Gay pride parade seem to run the city..The rest of us are Homophobic..cry confuse furious

if there's one thing I like about Ford , it's that he actually goes and looks at the toronto houseing buildings - talks to the people who live there and tries to get stuff done for them

no way would you ever see any of the others do something even close to that

chow would probably need an inquirey into just how large a drywall patch needs to be
- and even then nothing would get fixed

I am hoping that Christine Elliott will step up and take the reigns. She is local to me and a very good friend of the agency I work for.

Down to earth and very likable.

She would be Jim Flaherty's  ex I believe.. I never really heard much about her up until the last week or so..I think that's who she is..Jim was a great politician honest, smart .hard working..like to see more of her portfolio ..We sure need somebody who knows how to deal in the legislator to get respect and keep the Liberals in check..that is going to be tough with a Majority..

wonderful people , just ## wonderful

Had a conversation with a friend of mine who drives truck.[gravel] & he said his boss said if this Ont. pension comes in there will be 22 drivers laid off & 22 trucks for sale,+ the loader operators & mechanic etc. or they can buy the trucks & go O/O & pay it themselves as he will go "UNDER" if he has to pay it + his office staff!!!! Starting to hear more of this from diff. sources.
