I know what you mean though....I think the lurkers are not members, but people just browsing from all over.....In the last couple of months, the number of visitors to the site has doubled, not sure why.....

Referring URLs

When a user clicks through from another site to your Active Board, the system automatically records the last page that was visited just prior to arriving at your forum (the referring URL). Typically these are pages which link to your forum or otherwise direct traffic there.

The referring URL is a variable which is passed by the user's browser to our servers as part of their request for a forum page. This information is optional and voluntary-- no invasive tracking is used, and in no way is the user's privacy compromised. Any extra parameters included in the URL using the "get" method are removed automatically.

Gee, I would say if they are afraid to join or make a comment who cares???? It is a forum with a thousand different personality's..That is exactly what I like about it..A thousand personalitys, brings a thousand different ideas ..They just might learn something from looking through a different screen and sharing a discussion to defend there views..far as I know nobody has been physically beaten up on here..We all stick our foot in in it sometimes and wish we hadn't said one thing or another..I know if you always just sit on your own front porch you will never get to play with the big boys and you will never learn a thing ....but You will be safe from having to make a decision or offer an opinion just in case somebody does not agree with you but if you don't have one to share and you just criticize others ideas,or opinions I guess your better to stay a lurker.. Either way, forums are not for bully's either, at least that's what I try to show my kids.

And this forum is open for all to view, except the "Off Topic" section.

i sure agree with the op and Gazoo last post ...........i seen lot of forum turn to name calling ............that s one of the reason i close my first account and also the reason why i ...don t post my opinion ......and prefer lurking if everytime we post an opinion that is not what the regular think we get call names .....well i could easily post what name i woould call that type of people but i been raise to respect people

I've noticed in the past week or so I keep on having to log on every time I come onto this site. I also was lurking today until I noticed nothing was highlighted and no Off Topic section.... Log in guys and say your piece. I'm sure everyone has something to say about something. I'm probably one of the worst offenders for jumping into other peoples posts and adding my thoughts...and I'm not going to stop. If you don't like what other people say either ignore them or call them out on it. Either way it's great entertainment for the rest of us..I'm sure the more you post and the more we get to know each other the better this site will get... Leafs run for the cup next year....go go go....and Buick's rule....my 2 cents.
