during the leaders debate, it was encouraging to hear hudak refer to drive clean as a wasteful program several times. i'm not a big fan of any of the parties but at least there's a little glimmer of hope to finally scrap drive clean

I was discussing this with a friend of mine who owns a drive clean shop...he said the contract is for 4.5 more years...so if there is hope...it will end then....
Then again...Mike Harris said if elected he would scrap Photo Radar and did within the week...
Funnier things have happened...
(not to go off topic and start an argument/debate)
But I hope Hudak is elected and scraps drive green($)....i mean drive clean...

Drive Clean is going to be the least of your problems if Hudak gets elected! Like I have said before, if he gets elected with a with a majority, be prepared to have sons and daughters and their families come home to live with you because he will cause the worst economic downturn since the fiasco in Greece a few years ago. You just can't lay off a hundred thousand people and expect the economy to just sail along without a major bump! Where are those hundred thousand people going to go?
Create a million jobs ..... who is he trying to kid? Think about his plan to lower the journeyman to apprentice ratio .... any fool can see that won't create jobs, it will do just the opposite! I am not saying to vote liberal, I am saying don't vote for Hudak!

Where were they before the Liberals created a hundred thousand beauacracies..The Liberals have added 300,000 Government public sector jobs since 2008...These are all top heavy management..What do you do when your a 100,000 dollars in debtin your house ?? ,,not go and spend another 100 million on subsidized wind turbines  and solar panels..The Liberals and Mcginty have created the mess..Thank goodness Tim and the Conservative have the courage to tell the truth and be ready to make the tough decisions to bring us back from bankruptcy...

Im Voting conservative and I would encourage everybody to..

vote conservative.........for our children..and good honest government

A lot of those positions will be lost through attrition. They will retire, that's where they will go.

I don't like it that he says he's cutting 100,000 jobs but when those are mainly $100,000 + top heavy positions. That I'm all for.

I know some people who have made the sunshine list and would not be there if it weren't for the reckless spending of our current gov.

I work for OPG and make the sunshine list.

Are you saying I deserve to lose my job because i worked hard and paid for my own education, took night school to get ahead and be eligable to get a good paying job? My father was not a manger either. He was a trick driver with 5 kids and a wife that stayed at home like my wife did to bring up our kids.

Or maybe your not happy with my hourly wage and benefits that were negotiated by the union and management and both side agreed upon? A binding contract that sometime went to arbitration and this is what we ended up with. Historically we have had pay freezes already like in the 1990's when the economy took a down turn. I wouldn't even be opposed to one now as I never complain about wheat I get paid. Yes, I guess i have it good and therefore so does my family. I also put more back into the economy that most of you because I pay for my kids educations and can't seem to save a dime!

There's also more to the sunshine list than you may think, I mean other the opinions of those who will undoubtedly repy spitting venom towards this posting. Here's something you may not have thought about. Big companies are no longer hiring full time employees!! We have temporary employees that get laid off every Christmas/New Years for 2 weeks and come back year after year to make up our manpower. There are so few of us full timers and so much work, we get open tickets to work OT during outages. We are encouraged to work the extra overtime time and that put us on the sunshine list!!

So go ahead and slam me because I was wise enough to educate myself with marketable skills to give my family a good standard of living. If any of you are complaining that your not getting a fair shake try getting an education to get a better paying job for the futures of your kids. I realize it's a scarafice not may are willing to make but it pays off for the rest of your lives!

it's more the milking of the system that I think tics people off

like a friend who works for the parks dept here in T-O
after their strike a few years back , he was telling me how , when working overtime because they had to catch up on the work that had gone undone dureing the strike he was NAPPING in the truck while pulling o-t on his pay

or the guy in the picket line at the garbage drop off I read about that was physically shoveing around a 70 year old man

or the guy who chose to lean on my buddy's brand new truck while he was waiting to drop off his garbage

no one's gonna cry if those types get tossed out

or the by law inspectors / enforcement officers who do nothing - like the garbage that has collected next door since that house was built back in '86
- or the abandoned house on the other side of me that stinks so bad of racoon crap in the attic that I often really do have to hold my breath walking from the driveway to the house - nevermind not being able to open a window on a hot day as my house would soon stink of it

it's been sitting empty like that since 2001

yes I realize some of my beefs are with the city , not the province but the attitude does cross over in some cases

I'm voting for the Green Party.

I have no idea what they're about but based on the name, I'm thinking it's either money or weed.

Either way that's totally stoke with this dude, man.

Peace out brothers.

'.........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

I am not going to slam you or even argue with you..But your satement about all the overtime while others in your company tell me that is wrong..Not saying it's your fault..but I do beleive it is your union and the Liberal government who are mismanging the economy..if there is so much work why would your UNION  not be trying to look after those others..I say the Government is and your company is extremely wastefull and they are obviously exploiting other employees ...

I also have a good education..with marketable skills..Tell me how many jobs like yours with thos marketable skills are out there if you lost that great job with the public sector..beleive mw there is not many in the private world ..those great jobs only exist because of horrible missmanagement and wasteful spending in the public sector..Especially the green dishonest crooked energy act..you know the one that has blighted and is detroying out beatiful rural countyside..destouing the landscape and many peoples lifes..destryong the farm land because of all the silly little earthworms that are dissapearing around every wynd turbine .. and making the land unproductive..while the Liberals continue to drive us into bankruptcy... Nobody is saying you are not not woth your wage..but in the last 5 years the public sector..Provincial Government they have grown by 300,000 jobs,, and more than half of them are management postions.. not spitting any venom..just stating the facts.. Vote Conservative...smile

the fact they (libs) spent any of it just to save their seats IS the issue with the gas plants - cost is beside the point

it would be no more or less wrong if it was only 5 bucks

not trying to pick an issue with you , just saying how I see it

okay, back to drive clean. regardless of your political leanings, if any of your local candidates contact you, ask what is their party's official stand on drive clean.

Soon to be 5x re-elect PC Ted Chudliegh here in Halton. So entrenched and not much hope for change good bad or otherwise. Not even sure who the other candidates are. This is a hopeless election IMO no party is worth voting for. The best outcome might be a failed minority that eventually forces out the current party leaders for all parties. We need new blood as this current batch is worthless.

http://www.torontosun.com/2014/05/31/sun-news-network-documentary-down-wind-exposes-the-wynne-mcguinty-green-energy-disaster

The truth about the Liberal energy Policy and how it's costing us our future and completely unnessacary as we have more hydro than we need and we have to give it away..What good Solar to us at night.. It is impossible to use the wind turbines due to spike and surges and must be controlled by Gas plants..Wind and solar only work by us heavily subsidising it .. and There are some hi up Liberasl who are making big big bucks from deals with the liberals.. crooks..
