Jiggs McDonald, NHL Hall of Fame broadcaster speaking in Ontario, says. "I
am truly perplexed that so many of my friends are against another mosque
being built in Toronto.

I think it should be the goal of every Canadian to be tolerant regardless
of their religious beliefs. Thus the mosque should be allowed, in an effort
to promote tolerance.

That is why I also propose that two nightclubs be opened next door to the
mosque, thereby promoting tolerance from within the mosque. We could call
one of the clubs, which would be gay, "The Turban Cowboy," and the other a
topless bar called "You Mecca Me Hot."

Next door should be a butcher shop that specializes in pork, and adjacent
to that an open-pit barbecue pork restaurant, called " Iraq of Ribs."
Across the street there could be a lingerie store called " Victoria Keeps
Nothing Secret," with sexy mannequins in the window modeling the goods.

Next door to the lingerie shop there would be room for an adult sex toy
shop , "Koranal Knowledge," its name in flashing neon lights, and on the
other side a liquor store called "Morehammered." All of this would
encourage Muslims to demonstrate the tolerance they demand of us, so their mosque
issue would not be a problem for others.

Yes, we should promote tolerance, and you can do your part by passing this
on. And if you are not laughing or smiling at this point... It is either
past your bedtime, or it's midnight at the oasis and time to put your camel
to bed! biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

That's an excellent way to start the day. A good laugh. Its too bad " Tolerance " has become a one way street here in CANADA thanks to our ridiculous multiculturism laws.

there's one just down the street from me

it was / is a small converted house

before they refaced the house , the front window was large enough to see them all standing shoulder to shoulder cramed into the place

so many infact I'm still wondering why the floor didn't collapse under them from the weight

definately contray to any fire / occupancy codes

for about 3 years the neighbours had to put up with dust and mud from so many cars being parked on the lawn - which is now paved

and there's no on street parking but that dosen't mean anything to them - in fact , I passed by one night , in the dark and there was even a transport truck parked half on the sidewalk and street faceing the wrong way- with the back end of the trailer and it's under ride bar hanging out in the curb lane

you also have to be carefull passing by as some of them will just pull right out in front of you

Now that is funny.

DJD yours not so much. I would be pissed if I had to put up with that. I do not like folks parking in front of my house at all, let alone all the damn time. 5 times a day....every day....

Though I have to admit its better then the loud speaker blaring 5 times a day....everyday....for 9 months. "ALLLLLLAAHHH ACKBAR" ...gives me the damn shivers

yeah, I'm just glad it's down the street from me & not right out in front

though I do have some do goody goody propaganda BS out front

ie , the former glen eagles hotel property is across the road - the save the rouge'ers "restored" it a few years back

it used to be full of wildlife , ducks in the spring as a low spot flooded after the spring melt , skunks , racoons , coyotes , mice , shrews , dear with young and even briefly wolves

since they turned under all the wild weeds and grasses there's nothing - nothing at all
they even covered all the grass that had reclaimed the parking lot area with bark chips - so nothing would grow there

all the save the rouge bs is good for is some eyesore billboards as you pass through their grand wonderfull park
garbage along the trails dosen't even get cleaned up

but they have their nice little tree planting days - filling in any open spaces and chaseing away even more wildlife that like the open areas

one needs to remember there is no such thing as "restoring environment" all a human can do is change it - again

what I call wonderfull vote for me BS

I've lived in this same spot for almost 50 years - I've seen the changes & I kinda know what I'm talking about

sorry for the tangent / rant lol - I strayed thinking this was the see this out the front window thread

I remember the Rouge Valley and the Glen very well. Those are my old stomping grounds even though I was too young to go into the Glen Eagle. (not that I wanted to)

Go to their country and TRY to do something YOU want, and see what happens!!! It's not fair! They come here for a better life (which I can appreciate) but they change OUR existing life in the process!! Our soil, our rules.

ya
one of the guys I used to know saw it while walking his dog - ran up to the door - my mother called the fire dept

sadly , "someone" left a big box of boxes of books of matches in the place
I figure it was left behind with the hope some kid would light it up

I know it was there 'cause a buddy and I took "the tour" when some of the local kids had ripped the boards off the door and broke in

there were 2 old folding top desks and oddly an old dresser identical to one we got from my great grandfather up stairs

I still wish I could have scored those

I don't think so. It was beside a hill just off Kingston road I think. If I recall, there was a bridge over the Rouge right beside it where we stood and watched it burn.. Hemi might know. He stomped there.

I think it did burn down. Not sure what bridge you're talking about, Roger. The Glen was located just at the top of a very steep hill .

You are thinking about the restaurant/bar where Glen Rouge campground is now. I remember driving by on the 401 that night,

Thanks to politicians and our great multiculturism policy they come here and make us change our ways to accommodate" them ".  What a wonderful change for Canada, Mounties with turbans, Guys in dresses walking around with big knives in their belts, women wearing disguises, good move.

If we went to their country and tried to exibit our customs there we,d be in jail, or worse.

What pisses me off more than anything, is that we all feel the same way about multiculturalism, but if we speak out against it we're labeled as racists.

The problem is that we are, or are nearly, a minority in our own country and we,ve let this crap go to the point of no return. We aren,t the only country to learn multiculturism DOES,NT WORK. The politicians spend so much time and effort boosting Canada around the world they ignore whats happening in their own country.

For me the ones that are turning our country into a cess-pool are those fking moooselims who practice ISLAM and are trying to shove Shari law down our throats..I would put them all on the same camel with a suicide vest and send them about half way and have the detonator connected to a cell phone so I could call when they are about half way home ...That should make our country safer..And I really don't give a rats ass who thinks I am a racist..They are the scummiest of the scum of this earth..Death to Islam and it's followers ...Hog town has a kazillon of them probably supporting the McWynees gang of Islamic liars..I can only tolerate so much before I have to stand my ground..We have to much scum in this country that is turning us into a third world country..and to those who would call me a bigot or a racist..to fking bad..I am a proud Canadian..and refuse to have the laws of land bent to those dirt bags..

 Agreed!!

In theory;  Different cultures from around the world are supposed to live in harmony as one people (Canadian ) and all work together to make Canada a better place to live. A wonderful melting pot of different backgrounds that left their social, political and religious problems back in their old Country.

In practical; Different cultures from around the world immigrate to Canada, setup their own communities and  live the lifestyle and religion they have been used to. Some can live here 30+ years and never have to even learn English or French.

Years ago people immigrated to Canada to better their lives for them and their families and to escape tyranny in their own country and did their best to blend in and become part of the Canadian lifestyle and most did just that and we were better for it. Now they come to change our lifestyle and do their best to create their own little communities and not blend in. I just can,t see where we are better off with multicultureism than without it. I think myself we would be better off with a government with some balls who would stand up for Canada.

I think you are right! Something "Inn" wasn't it? It was a well known place to scarberians. I grew up on Scarborough Bluffs a little further south west.

OK...point made about immigration....Before I shut this thread since it is getting out of hand, I will just say a few thoughts about when I immigrated to this country in the 1950s and how we as immigrants changed Canada to our ways.

Octoberfest (German).......Highland games (Scottish)........Little Italy in Toronto (Italian)........Chinatown........You get the idea.

Granted...these are a different lot of people coming here now from a different part of the world that we are not used to. Most of them are here for a better life, some are here to abuse the system, which gives them all a bad rap......

BTW, myself being of German decent had a pretty hard time growing up in the 50s-60s....My dad was a German soldier in WW2, not by choice, but there was plenty of name calling just the same.
