Sorry...I'm back!

Hi Ya'll!

Here's a couple pics of my current rides, a 1971, 340 4 speed Duster. Original EL5 (Bahama Yellow), aka Butterscotch, with 73,000 miles. All matching numbers drive, it even has the original factory hoses and belts (I replaced them, so I could drive it). The only one known to exist with factory electronic ignition, which came out in '72 (for you Mopar officiendos).

I'm the 3rd owner, and know the two previous owners, as well as the dealership owners personally (where it was sold new), Ontario car, always within 10 miles from where it was sold.

Documentation, doesn't get better then that,

Nicely optioned for performance, Kelsey Hay's pwr disc brakes, 4 speed trans., 8 3/4" rear. Hood pins with lanyards, trunk lid wing spoiler, deluxe woodgrain interior, bucket seats, no console, no pwr steering.

I've owned this car for 28 years, and it retains 80% of it's original paint. (it's getting thin, really thin).

The other ride is a '09 Chrysler 300C. It's got a Hemi, it's comfy, it's fun, it also gets 27.5MPG.

And last but not least, the project, I just can't seem to find the time to work on, but it's slowly progressing.

The '38 Dodge pick up. It will be powered by a 318ci (for now), till I get the 354 ci Hemi built.

So far the old truck has got a Heidts  coil over front suspension, with Mustang II rack and disc brakes on the front.

The ride height and rake set, with the four link/Pan Hard bar, rear Heidts coil overs,

IMG_2440.JPG

Ididit, tilt steering column is in, new Classic instrument gauges in the box, new wiring harness, new...

I have 90% of what I need to complete it, except time and money.

EDIT: I haven't figured out what size brake lines, I'm going to use yet.wink Because I installed a cheap Chevy 7" booster under the dash, I could only get it with 3/16" line fittings.

I'd rather would've gone with the brake system that is in my '09 300, which has 1/4" lines out of the Master Cylinder for the rear brakes, and...get this, 5/16", for the front.biggrin

Cheers,

Gilles

So...are you telling me the rear brakes (front of caliper) are 6mm? then, which would be .012" smaller in dia. then a 1/4"? God forbid...lol.

We are always glad when a lost sheep finds his way home..You have good input here Gilles and the board would miss your passion.. Some that left very recently or got removed by our very tolerant leader will not be missed ...But you would be missed.. I am learning to try and raise the bar a little and be either respectful or quiet..A challenge for an opinionated prolific know it all biggrin I have been inspired by the E.L.T.A. .. They have such a great attitude and I have never heard them running anybody down or name calling.. I always feel like they are glad to see everybody and are very generous with all things they do ..They are an inspiration to me and I really like their Cree..."NO GOOFS" .. I will admit it's just a goal I am striving for but, being an opinionated loud mouth I expect to fall or be pushed into slipping off the path from time to time..So I can understand how easy it is to just lose it and get so pe'od in a debate that it can make your blood boil and before yah realize it you are into full blown "ONTARIO RODDER RAGE"..and can barely resist ripping your computer out and smashing it..but just keep working on it.. I enjoy your posts and your input so when you get crazy and wild ..just shut it off for a couple days ..that's what I do..Some times It's best to write out your rage and just before you hit the send button just shut it down and git to bed..and revisit your reply the next day ..it has a way of seeming not very important when you look at it the next day..I need to take my own advice as well..
