Aint that the truth! Often the Kiss of Death to you car hobby. A wagon is forgivable and even understandable though.

This has been a problem for years and the only difference I can see styling wise is that small pillar in the rear door and the handle of course. The rear handle is easy but that pillar is a problem. I guess it is there to allow the rear window to roll down. Four door hardtops of the 50s don't have this pillar and seem to be more acceptible.53and 54 Chevies don't have this pillar so the 2dr and 4dr stylings are the same. So answer to me seems to be to get rid of that little pillar and forget about rolling down the rear windows. To me that would open up a whole bunch more cars and as my son says you can take way more friends with you on a road trip. Ed

MoreDoor is often a cheaper alternative or entry into the car hobby. And believe it or not...some actually like them. I also own a MoreDoor as my boy.

My son and I built his"MoreDoor" for a few reasons.

1. a 2 dr in that condition was double the money.

2. he liked the car

3. building a car on a budget meant is was feasable to buy that particular car(he wanted full frame rwd,V8).

4. He has gotten many compliments, thumbs up, and its been in 2 major publications.

5. He has zero intentions of ever selling/divorcing the car

6. He/we built the car for himself.

Ghost is right, number of doors only matters to us old farts that still think 4drs are parts cars no matter what shape there in .In the old days if you had a 2dr and a 4dr it didn't matter what shape they were in you always fixed the 2dr. Nowadays the younger ones don't even notice the difference. Money and fun level dictate the build and choices. The kids seem to have fun in mind while oldsters are hung up on resale value. Sign of the times I guess. Ed

Yeah, it's probably just a bias that I developed early in life. My Dad drove four door cars and I never liked them.

There are some exceptions but I usually don't want to even look at a four door for sale.

Still, I do see some nice old four door cars that look good so I'm glad they can find a home.

The 61 Buick looks OK in a four door but the bubbletop roofline of the two door is really cool.
