Got home from work before 9am. I thought "great day for a ride". Washed and shined my baby, got the wife ready and off we go for a nice drive. On the way home we pass some dusty/dirty construction but not to worry they we thoughtful and washed down the street. Bastards! I just spent another 45 minutes washing the car again.

I hate when that happens. Or even when there's a big combine or some multi wheeled tractor kicking up all the dust on the shoulder and you have to drive through it with the top down. grrrrrrrr!

I love the mounds and tracks of mud, from the dump trucks, that builds up at the entrance to the construction sites. Ed

years ago I came home from a cruise night in Huntsville driving my 46 chevy 1 ton. It was dark and as I was going up a hill I drove through what appeared to be slush....got to the top of the hill and the smell hit. The local township rd boss also hauled chicken **** from the local egg producer. He used a tandem dumptruck and had it full. Probably shifted on the hill and it spilled over the back.
I drove home and saw that it was 1/2" thick on the mud flaps. 1-1/2 hr later it was hosed off. Next day off to crappy tire for some degreaser and spray 9. 4 hrs later it was cleaned. BTW the truck is 22' long and this happened on wed. .....sat is was on main street at the Orillia show and no smell.
I had a few words to say to the road boss too!

BUGS is what bugs me. Riding home on the Harley last night around 10:00pm was just a barrage of bugs.

The township used to have some kind of oiley spray put on the roads around here to keep the dust down from the dirt roads. You learned quickly to go really slow or you would be scrubbing it off the car for awhile. The real problem was with those who didn't care about it flying by and spraying your ride. If the "pony piss" as we called it was fresh you just didn't take anyting you carred about to town. It did help undercoat the beaters though, right up to the doorhandles. Ed

Bugs are alright wait till the large wasp ends up inside your jacket or shirt. No point in even trying to pull over you are getting it.
