Sasquatch, You and I did the same thing on the weekend. I have been waiting over 45+ years to get into either a FED or an T-Altered. I finally made it happen this weekend in my 23-T Altered. Won first round race with a 6.57 on a 6.50 dial at 104.43 mph, Then the electrical gremlins came back in second round elimination and couldn't get staged due to kill switch problem.
Congratulations to you and your Son for getting you down the strip again. Feels awesome eh? Hope you do it again!

A day at the track having fun is always a great day especially when family and friends are there to share in the good time.....congrats brother on some fine ET's.
HI RAY : Congratulations on your " NEW / OLD " experience !! -- You can be justifiably proud of that time , after such a sabatical -- And to do it with your Son as well . Good on you -- LATER DON / fleet 51
Nothin' like racin' with your kids, we were out as well on sat. Age don't mean nothin' when the lights drop we're all 19 again. Did ya beat his time? Frame it if ya did.
This is my sons Chevelle, that Et on the window is before we installed the new converter and had the trans rebuilt. The converter dropped the et by 3/10ths.
I want him to keep running it, he's getting onto the tree real good and is getting real good reaction times.
In a fun run on the weekend against the drag truck he built the rear end for, he red lighted by .0005!
That's cutting it pretty fine!! Lol
Last two weekends out he has come out with second place. In the final he ran under by 2/100ths.
Fun times!
Good for you Ray, like you I was a long time between passes. I last ran in B/FX in 1965 and the car would run 11:69 in the quarter .
My next time down the track was 41 years later in the 55 Chev that I built. It ran 11:09 on the shakedown pass and then 10:44 next pass.
My right leg was shaking along with a lot of other parts.
What a rush.
Just gave it up 2 years ago, old age caught up with me. Or maybe common sense.
