Hi all, and thanks again for the welcome. As I said in my intro my wife and I are planning a trip across Canada next summer. We are planning a quick drive to Halifax and a slower drive back. Basically 1 week across east then 3 weeks back. So where should we stop when crossing thru Ont.? Mid June to mid July. We want to meet up with some car groups at the end of each day. Any suggestions? Never been past Calgary so looking forward to this trip...
2 Events you dont want to miss in London Ontario.
1. E.L.T.A. bash ( usually mid August though), The coolest garage and bash you will ever attend
2. Fleetwood Country Cruize In (1st weekend of June), largest car show in Canada
3. Woodward Dream Cruise ( usually 3rd weekend of Aug). Worlds largest cruise.
I understand some of these dates are past your drive however this area is the "Mecca" of car events and some you don't want to miss. In between these dates are many many other shows, events, drag racing events.
May, want to reconsider and stay longer. Always something going on.
to cross Ontario he will only be going through hwy 17 from Thunderbay to Ottawa so anything south will be a detour.......................... that means they ll be going through my home town Sudbury
I your going through Sudbury on a Sunday you ll drive right by the cruise night if after 6 00 pm or get in touch with Sudbury classic cruisers let me know about the fund raising for donations by pm
Thanks 56L I had started writing a long reply when the pos computer shut down. So I'll have to do it later, lunch is over and my boss is a a--hole
lolllllllllllllllllllllll about your boss being an.................... Im glad I don t have to deal with a boss anymore lolllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
OK just tried that and it worked. that's the vehicle we are taking from the left to the right coast and back. We've been fundraising for this cause for the last 5 years. 2015 with hopefully lots of corporate backing, which we're working on, we're going to leave Abbotsford after our Fun Run/Scavenger Hunt. Actually we're going to hype it up for 2 weeks till the annual A.L.S. 5km Walk around Mill Lake where the media will be, and leave from there. The route is tentatively planned and, 56Loser, we're going right by you. More later...
Well, been very busy with the planning of our drive. We now have the official blessing of the BC and Alberta A.L.S. Societies, waiting on the others. Our first sponsor signed up today, ENVIRO GRIT Abrasives. Talking to a few more this week who have all but said yes to signing up. Global TV will hopefully be at our send off (date yet to be determined). It's coming together. Any ideas for some gatherings in the first week of june (tentative)? In ont. of course. On the way back thru as well?

Things are progressing great. I know everybodie's on the edge of their seats lol. We'll be in Ontario as follows; Thunder Bay June 6th, Sault St Marie 7th, Wasaga Beach 8th, Toronto area for 2 nights 9th 10th, Kingston 11th. Then on the way back; Hearst 27th, Thunder Bay (again) 28th. So other than Kingston nothing else has been confirmed as of yet. All dates mean, that is when we get there, so the events will be in the evening or late afternoon. Any and all comments or ideas are welcome... Thanks
I don t know who makes the map but the shortest way from Thunderbay to go east to Halifax is highway 17 east , don't know why you would go the long way around by 401 that is strange and Hearst is completely up north when you cross Ontario that is another long detour , sure you ll go through bigger cities going down 69 south and by 401 east but does it mean more money ? Remember Terry Fox run across Canada ?
Thanks John, we have potential events in Kingston, Wasaga Beach, and Hearst. That's why the route is that way. We're not looking for the quickest way thru, but where we can raise some funds for ALS. Anything going on in your area?
