These places are disappearing!

Auction sale in my area last week, didn't go as it was raining. Got this fromĀ 2 friends that were there.

Old automotive repair garage, owners house contents, all shop equipment, and around 30 vehicles from the 40's, mostly International "K" series trucks, bunch of Flywheel one lunger engines, and a bunch of old collectibles of all sorts, including wood "Burls" that turners make large bowls out of.

This place has been totaly closed for 20? years at least and everything just sat.

When the last remaining member of the family started to try to clean out the old house, she started finding money in jars hidden everywere, and also found money hidden in pillow cases in the closets.

After totaling this up the total she found was just over $16,000.00!

The old fella had been stashing cash for the future! Lol

I will offer $2.50 for that jar of old bills. The least I can do.

Interesting stuff, I have heard of this happening many times, hiding money everywhere.

not good for me , short term fragmented memory loss syndrome , if I hid money somewhere,s I,d just forget where I put it an it would be lost ha ha .
as for Ponch,s plan . I,m thinking I,m gonna live till about 73 yrs of age maybe . I kinda plan on running outta money around that point . ha ha .
every time I,m driving out thru the country side an see old farms , barns , abandoned property . I,m always thinking Hmmmmmm ..77.

Just before my mom passed, she called me over and asked me to go into the closet. Hanging in one of her sweaters was about $10k US.

She gave me a few, and told me to let dad know where it was.

Dutch frugality, she'd been saving. (They lived in the US 11 years).

Man, I miss her some days. time for a glass of wine when I get home.

I just saw that a NOS Autolite Ford 390/427 distributor cap sold for over $500.00 on Ebay. Thats the stuff I look for in old garages. Many old garages used to keep extra stock around that is worth more than you would ever think....
