70s to mid 80s I saw them live.   I wish I would have taken better pics and had a better camera.  I met a lot of people along the way, some heavy hitters and some not real heavy hitters.

I was there for the biplane drove onto the Christmas tree. It was about 105f in the shade. We waited about an hour and a half while they few another plane to Napierville and got their tree. Why people think that folks go to a national drag race to see an air show is beyond me. don

X2 on the air show BS Don!! Dumb idea!
Anyone know what the arguement is about in the dragster pic? Is that Buster Couch?

Looks like Kay Sissel looking at the inline roadster.

Yep.. That's Buster. Looks like they are pointing to the fuel pump area. Probably a leak [ you can see the puddle under the car] Buster probably wants it shut off and the crew wants to make the run.

I have always dis-liked Fueler and  Funny cars

they were just to "Funny"

boring to wait so long for them to run and then all over in seconds lol

Give me a  Super Stocker any time

Maybe Captain Jack McClure had more nerve !!!!

That car was a handful and then it broke …….

   Next it was Go-Carts .

With the odd misadventure . It looks to be chained to the tree.  Testing ???

I wonder what Ivo thought ?

I guess he went 5.90 when it was Rocket powered

Thanks again, that pic of Skip Asay , he was a tough competitor and record holder at one time.
Remember all those Turbine ads, from Turbonuniqe, in Florida i think. (Spelling isn't correct.)
