New guy from Port Hope

Just a quick intro here from Port Hope. My name is Darryl. Just found this site by mistake actually, but glad i did. Recognize a few names here already Flatblack Ed, and Chris Stapley to name a few. I am just getting back to a long term, no budget rod. A 30 Plymouth 3 window. I have had the car since I was 14, and just rolled into 41! Time flies, but I still have it and am itching to back to work on it. Some of my previous cars have been a 65 Chevy II, 2 door post car, small block (first car), a mid 70's Astre, small block swap, an old 77 Monte Carlo , big block that we used to abuse at Shannonville ( and variuos locations north of town, back when you could still get away with that). Dad has a 37 Dodge Coupe, and a A100 pickup that he is currently driving.

So, here it is.... 1930 Plymouth. 396 chev, th350. 8 3/4 dodge rear on coild and ladder bars. Dropped tube axle/ 4 link up front. Chopped 4 inches, channeled untill it looked right to me. As with most projects I am still looking for some parts, pieces and tech help. Hopefully the guys and gals here can help.

Welcome from SW Dorchester! Glad you've decided to keep the project for so long and are starting back on it - it should scoot along just fine!

Welcome Darryl. Nice to see you keeping up the family hotrod tradition. This family likes Dodge/Plymouth hotrods and they like them fast. The coupe is looking great, how did you get the 396 past your dad ,love the tunnelram. Ed

Hey Ed, the 396 is a left over from the Monte Carlo we used to race. I had a 331 hemi i was going to use but when we sold the shop I didn't have anywhere to store it, plus the 396 was bought and paid for and didn't need a boat load of money spent on it.. I really don't care what engine is in it as long as its fast, and I think dad feels the same way.

Carl, if you have a rad and shell for a 1930 Plymouth I would be more than happy to take it off your hands. I have been looking for 20 years for one and the closest I have came is a '28 I picked up a couple weeks ago. looking for a trunk lid too if anyone knows where one is....

Welcome from Vineland Darryl. Nice coupe. If you can't locate a trunk lid there are a few guys here with more than adequate skills to make you one.
