In 1969, I bought a new Olds F85 post sedan with the W-31 package from Parklane Motors in Sarnia. The car was dark green with black hood striping, was equipped with a Hurst close ration 4 speed with a 4:33 read end. I traded the car at Henry`s Datsun on Indian Rd prior to returning to school. I saw the car around Sarnia off and on for a year or so then never saw it again. I understand they only made 200. Does anyone from Sarnia or area remember this car and know if it survived.
The Cook brothers (Robin and Dick) from Barrie had a green F85 W-31 it had a 350 4 speed. They were always talking about how rare it was, only "200 plus" were built. Dick had it for a year or so and then Robin ended up with it and he sold it last year.
Thanks for the comments. They say half the fun is the quest. A lot of water over the dam since 69. I ran this car in the F stock class at Grand Bend. Had serious traction issues with F78 14 bias ply tires and street exhaust. There was a white 69 Cutlass W31 convertible that used to run there in G stock as well. Not sure but I think it was from Sarnia as well.
