We used to trailer it in a school bus that we cut and hinged the back section. Due to the length of the dragster and the low ground clearence we had to use long ramps with jackalls on the one end to back the car all the way out 5' off the ground and then jackall the one end down to the ground. People use to come from all over the track just to wacth us unload. The bus made for a great party room once the car was out. My brother driving ran over the track photographer breaking the guys leg in several places and smashing his camera to bits. He (photograpgher) was talking with the starter in between the lanes and turned and walked with his back to the car as the dragster was backing up. The tire caught his leg and dragged him down and under. Shut down the track for most of the day. He later apologized for not paying attention That was the last pass we ever made with the car for unrelated reasons (end of season I think). That aside we had so mant great weekends at Cayuga.
Our 38 Chev, took over ten years to gather the parts. sits on the stock frame with a 82 LeMan's front clip, rides like a dream. The best deal when building it was the engine, A kid at work had rebuilt his 85 Z 28 Camaro, then wrapped it around a pole. I bought the car for $500 then sold the trans, rear axle and a bunch of other parts for $ 600..........so got a rebuilt 305 with aluminum intake and a $100 in my pocket. the car runs like a dream, used 1 quart of oil to drive to LA roadster show and back.......
the 32 is my car that was also built at home. gathered up all the parts from lots of places. painted by a friend in his rv barn, interior was sent out to Triple K upholstery in Port Colborne, Tim did a fantastic job for us. This car is a great driver, took it to Nashville last fall...........
Built the 48 Chev sedan for my oldest daughter, she gets it out once in a while and it still has the original paint and interior, slammed with a 82 Cutlass clip, it is a great fun car
Last is my youngest daughter's little 29 roadster, runs a 153 cu in Chevy 4 banger with a 700 R trans, custom built tube frame and super bell axle front and Ranger p/u rear end She dragged home the body from Ithaca NY, really rough start, but it came together well...........
Guys those are some wicked machines. Well done. DavyJ pic 2 might get us sent to the off topic section...lol just kidding.
Thanks for posting your rides.
ok then. Found a few of the Supernash. Coming at ya in a minute. She's a dirty girl after a couple decades so don't crucify me. (Carl, you hush !! You've seen her lately)
Growing up parents had a print of a painting (kinda like a N. Rockwell but not) of a big white 2 story praire farm house and a big wrap around porch with an old chev (35?) driving by on the country road with a kid in the rumble seat. Always wanted to be that kid. Think it is still in their basement. Will have to have a look for it next time I'm over there. THX for posting

This is all I have. Fenders were on temporary just so I could see how the motor looked. Off now and moving the motor mounts. A little frustrated but still trying to do something with the project.

As SHAG put it : " We have some awesome iron right here in ONTARIO " -- Mine isn't that awesome , but it is all my own work -- Wow , do I ever need to learn how to post photos --- Thanks guys for sharing -- LATER -- DON / Fleet 51
I hear ya. I'm close to embarrassed posting my cars. You guys are way outta my leaque.
Just FYI. That scanner I dug out doesn't work with my OS. Hunting for a driver to run it ! (no pun intended)
you should never be embarrassed about what you own are or working on.......everyone has been there at some time or another............. I find something cool about almost every car I look at. whether it is small hand made bracket or a full blown Hemi............just let us all see .............
Picked up the Galaxie just East of Tillsonburg a couple years ago just the way it sits. The owner was being put in a old age home, and all I've done is dropped the rear end, and put in fuel. Has lived its entire life in this area.

I've seen more eye candy here on this short thread then I saw at Barret-Jackson in 3000 cars and yet they still kept buying them. Ontario has a long proud history of building top class iron, but then we're just the little guys, right? Here is my small contribution.
My 62 Cutlass which I have owned since 1987. It had 18,000 miles on it at the time. I have since upgraded to 4 wheel disk, T5 tranny, dual chambered exhaust, a lousy paint job by Frank, full new suspension with sway bar, reupholstered and fully rebuilt engine. (original 215 all aluminum)
About seven years ago I decided to build a tribute to a car I had built in the early sixties. A model A coach high boy which I finally finished just in time for the 2015 Autorama where it received the Street Rodder Magazine 'Street Shaker' award. There is a build thread here http://ontariorodders.activeboard.com/t55167935/dog-spit-the-build/
Summer of 2014 a lifelong friend and I started the Bantam project. (by the way, he live on Haida Gwaii and I'm in Picton) He took the body home and built a chassis under it. In 2015 I picked it up and brought everything home. We are building a Nostalgia class Altered running a 261 Chev/Pontiac 6 cylinder. We are hoping to have it at the Armdrop this Spring.
I know a lot of you have seen this stuff before but like stated there a quite a few new members.
HI WARREN : GREAT photos -- and GREAT projects !! Keep it up ( The first Arm-Drop is closing in !! ) -- Thanks for the insiration -- LATER -- DON / Fleet 51
Here's a couple pics of the wagon that we built to drive to California. ( route 66 ) We did that in 2012. What a great trip. Took around 1100 pictures.2012.
HI BOB : NOW , that's a beautiful wagon!!! and sounds like a fabulous trip -- Any chance of you narrowing down " EASTOWN " , without giving too much away -- LATER -- DON / Fleet 51
Here are a few of a friends 51 International project with a turbo cummins diesel and air ride. We picked this up off a friend down in the backwoods of Tennessee. During a night of moonshine a deal was made and we went back down several weeks later and picked her up.
Took this first photo on the day we got it back with a friend of ours in the photo. It looks like could be 1951
No show just tell. The 57 Chevy is moving along slowly . I have the 12 bolt with Bears Axles , Spool and 4.88s under the car. The fenderwell headers are here and I have a close ratio Muncie (2.20) also a Doug Nash pro shifted gear set for it. Mech tach cable and dist , 1957 dual four set up , nine inch slicks and other odds and ends are also here. Now if I can just get the old body working.

Like the others said there sure is a lot of beautiful rides out there in the area, when you go to cruise nights and car shows during the summer you see cars and trucks that you never knew existed. All that have posted here have some beautiful rides and should be proud of them, enjoying this post a lot, here are a few of mine. First is my 75 Chevrolet pickup, love this one, fast and mean with a 502 fuel injected crate engine, second is a 1971 GMC short box done in Harley them, orange and black, 402 original drivetrain, came from Arizona, used to belong to the Gambino's out there, I do have documentation for it too, and the last is my newest ride a 1962 Chevrolet Chevy 11, looking forward to driving this little beauty, has a ZZ383 crate engine and a whole lot of goodies underneath too, can't wait for warmer weather. If anyone is interested the 72 GMC is for sale, it has to go or I may be sleeping with the dog soon.
