I guess its true, but according to Wikipedia, it was 1981....maybe was extended to 82

Not 160 Gs worth of Frank though

"

Frank Sinatra Edition[edit]

Frank Sinatra in first 1981 Imperial built

The Imperial had an unusual distinction for 1981 as it was offered with an optional special edition named after a celebrity. The Imperial fs was a rare example of automotive history, as it was one of only a handful of regular production cars bearing a celebrity's name. This limited edition Imperial was available only in Glacier Blue Crystal paint - Chrysler advertising claimed it matched the color of Sinatra's eyes - and had special fs (lowercase) external badging, with a large glovebox placard proclaiming "Frank Sinatra Signature Edition". Inside, 16 cassette tapes of Sinatra titles were presented in a specially made Mark Cross leather case. In the center console of the car there was also a special tray for 8 cassettes.[39][40] 271 fs edition cars were manufactured.[30] The "fs" cost $1,078.[41]"

I think it's a mistake and the price is actually $16,000.

They couldn't possibly honestly believe someone would pay $160,000 for it.

I don't care how nuts some people are, that HAS to be a mistake in the price.

I am just wondering if there is anyone who can still drive who would pay more for a Frank Sinatra endorsed car. Ed

I'm closer to your price range Joe ..........it's from around this area but I've never seen it , or Frank . If it was a mistake you think it would be corrected by now .

I doubt it's $160 biggrin and I'd bet he'll have a hard time finding a buyer at $16,000 as well but there's no way someone seriously thinks that car is worth $160,000

Wonder if this is the same person that was claiming (a couple of years back) that Ford (the company) bought his mid-forties truck for half a mill plus a new p--up confuse

Well how many cars were enterred in the class !?!?!?

In 1987 we rented a Chrysler mininvan in Calgary and drove to the Mopar Nationals in Columbus. Along the way we nailed a lot of bugs and the antenna nailed a dragonfly. When we got to the Nats we entered the van in the van class for the hell of it (with the dragonfly still speadeagle on the antenna) ... and took first place !!!

I couldn't find the ad yesterday .....thought one of you rich guys bought it ......but there it is still , not too far from an ad for a "classic" 1985 Hyundai Pony ! biggrinbiggrin

I think the more interesting question would be to phone the guy and ask how many calls he's had asking if 160K was the real price !

A guy I knew had one of those, but it was a blue 81'. He had all the original paperwork for the car, as it was his fathers since new. He had all the factory info on the car from Chrysler Historical services, and it said right on it that the Frank Sinatra edition was a one year only edition, only available in glacier blue.

The car was mint and only had 24,000km on it. It was in Windsor also. I wonder if he still has it. I should tell him its worth $160K. He had it for sale for years at $11k with no takers.

I guess it begs the question , what does the Frank Sinatra Edition offer ........booze stained upholstery ? cigarette burns ? various ladies panties from previous "conquests " ........boggles the mind , maybe . biggrinbiggrin
