So if I read the news correctly England is going to ban the sale of new gas or diesel cars and trucks in 2040. No word on used vehicle sales. I belive gas was going to be available for 10yrs after. Wonder if they will actually do it or
if the petroleum giants will willingly allow it to happen? Could it happen here?Wonder if the Ilumaniti or the Bilderburgs will have to agree? I guess if passed our cars would be pretty much worthless. Or it would lead to great opportunities

In all honesty, it wouldn't surprise me if by that time the gov't (or insurance companies) have banned any and all "vintage" cars (not just due to gas or propane or hydrogen fuel cell technology but from a safety standpoint as well ... no air bags, no three-point belts etc) from on-road use of any kind, You want to see an old gas guzzler? Visit a museum. You have one and want to display it? Buy a trailer (hopefully at that time in the future an electric car will be capable of towing an old gas pig on one of those new carbon fiber trailers).
Have you ever read the lyrics from the Rush song Red Barchetta? (I have added them below).
My uncle has a country place, that no-one knows about He says it used to be a farm, before the Motor Law Sundays I elude the ‘Eyes’, and hop the Turbine Freight To far outside the Wire, where my white-haired uncle waits
Jump to the ground As the Turbo slows to cross the borderline Run like the wind As excitement shivers up and down my spine Down in his barn My uncle preserved for me an old machine – For fifty-odd years To keep it as new has been his dearest dream
I strip away the old debris, that hides a shining car A brilliant red Barchetta, from a better, vanished time Fire up the willing engine, responding with a roar! Tires spitting gravel, I commit my weekly crime…
Wind in my hair – Shifting and drifting – Mechanical music Adrenalin surge –
Well-weathered leather Hot metal and oil The scented country air Sunlight on chrome The blur of the landscape Every nerve aware
Suddenly ahead of me, across the mountainside A gleaming alloy air-car shoots towards me, two lanes wide I spin around with shrieking tires, to run the deadly race Go screaming through the valley as another joins the chase
Drive like the wind Straining the limits of machine and man Laughing out loud With fear and hope, I’ve got a desperate plan At the one-lane bridge I leave the giants stranded At the riverside Race back to the farm To dream with my uncle At the fireside…

and all it will take is someone who wants to get elected just a little more than the enviro nutter that says .. eah , we ain't gonna do that ..
when I go to hortons in the morning and see the 15-20 cars waiting in the drive through .. while I walk in to get my coffee , I can't help but think we would probably meet any emisions reduction standard you can imagine .. IF we simply banned the damed drive throughs
.. and the THOUSANDS of cars waiting in line , RIGHT NOW, everywhere
I hear you about the Hortons line but these newer cars are so "clean", people can't even commit suicide by closing the garage door and firing up the car.
I think in China or Japan, once a car reaches something like 60,000 kms, it can no longer be licenced (which is why people used to/still import 60,000 km engines to North America for resale). Something like that could easily happen here (in several years) where nothing over 10 years old (or 5 or 7 or whatever) can be stickered/plated. Not being paranoid as whatever comes is coming regardless of my opinion, just stating that it "could" happen here. Hell, in 40 years I'll most likely be nothing more than a whiff of dust after my pass through the "vaporizer" at the funeral home.

yeah I tell "them" to go do exactly that everytime I hear "them" say the air comming out is cleaner than the air goin in
I always get one of those "I don't know what to do with that comment" looks from "them"
it don't know 'cause it can't think for it's self
same as something like ten million new cars that make half the polution of one million old cars is still five times more polution than the one million old ones made
cutting emmissions is great but it only works if you only build the same number of cars
I know in some parts of Japan the car salemen come to your house to sell you the car
because they have to make sure you have a place to park it before they are allowed to sell it to you
that would really get the on street parking issue cleaned up real fast
An the knowledge in this in video "PUTS AND END" to [t]heir game! Did you know the Alleged Queen not does not rein over Canada any more Actually since 1982! WE all know what a politician means when they give such a long lead time for a proposition like this. It means it will probably never happen and if it does someone else will take the heat cause he will probably be dead anyway. Just like those big cheques they keep trotting out for photo ops, no one really expects to actually cash one . Ed
